    Author Notes:

    Bette, Tina, Dana, Alice, Shane, Carmen, Helena, Dylan, Kit, Angus, Peggy, and Marilyn discover what John Lennon said in the song, “Beautiful Boy” is absolutely true: “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.”

    Tina shook her head and smiled at Helena.  “You were always really good with the ‘straw man’ argument, but I’m not falling for it.  What does our need for a larger house have to do with moving to New York, really?”

    “Well… this is a party.  We’ll be in town for a few days.  We can get together and chat, yeah?”

    “All right.” 

    Helena briefly rinsed her hands at the sink, dried them on the tea towel that was on the counter, picked up the tray of coffee and tea, smiled at Tina, and left through the patio doors.  Tina stood in the kitchen and stared for a moment, shook her head, and said, “Wow.”  She placed the plates of desserts on a large wooden serving tray, picked it up by the handles, and followed behind Helena.  “Wow,” Tina said again.

    * * * * *

    A few minutes later, as everyone was commenting on the delicious pie and torte, Bette stood.  “Everyone, Tina and I thank you for celebrating Thanksgiving with us.  I just want to say that I’m thankful for my friends who are like family and my family who are also my friends.  I love each and every one of you.  The last year has been a year of change for all of us.  Tina has recovered and is having our second baby; my brother Mo has become one of the most important people in my life; I can always count on my sister Kit and her man, Angus.  I have a job that I love.  I am the most fortunate woman alive.”

     

    Tina looked at Bette and then stood and said, “I don’t know how she can be the most fortunate when I am.”  She laughed, then added.  “I’m thankful for my good friends, but I’m especially thankful that my family is healing from so much.”  Without mentioning Stephanie by name, Tina had mentioned her.  “I’m happy and healthy.  I love you, Bette and Angelica, and…”  She rubbed her big tummy.  “…you little Miss.”  Tina turned to look at her ‘sister-in-law.’  “Kit?”

     

    Kit stood.  “Well, I been sittin’ tight on this, but, I found out a coupla things today.  First though, I loves me some Bette and Mo and Tina and my little Angelica, my little Foxy Brown.”  Angelica looked up when she heard her aunt and smiled.  “And y’all are my closest friends and you make goin’ to the Planet everyday somethin’ I want and love to do.  It wouldn’t be the same without y’all there.”  She took a deep breath.  “All right then.  I do have some things to be ‘specially thankful for.  I got a call from Nona Hendryx today.  She told me that my album that came out almost a year ago is climbing up the charts again.”

It has always amazed me how you wound the pieces of the series into this complete work. I love where you have taken all of them and how it was so true to the characters we have know.     6. Portia, thank you so much for this epic love story. I’m happy that all of the characters are happy and content. The loop holes that the show had created, you have thoroughly patched. That for me is remarkable. Jenny’s death in season 5 and her magazine being thrown in the pool – what can I say, your attention to detail is a gold standard in fanfic. Kudos to you and also Wendy for creating this wonderful story.

    13. I read this chapter as slowly as I could so that I could savor every word of it. It was worth me taking the time, although I was fully aware that each time I clicked “Next page” I was that much closer to the finish. This was a fantastic end to such a richly layered story. Everyone got their ending, and each and every one of them earned it… the struggles each couple/family had to overcome to get to their happiness made it all the more believable. You didn’t cheat, Portia, not the readers, not the story. This has been such an absolute treat to read, through all the highs and lows, and I’ve loved every single word of it. (And kudos for not forgetting Jenny this chapter! heh) Thank you, Portia, for writing this story and taking us on the journey with you. Take care, and I hope we see another story from you soon.

    18. well after about a month and a half im finally finish with your story and as I wrote you before I truly believe you are a gift to writing and taking readers along for the experience. I had to stop several times for work or sleep but it was well worth the time. I prolonged finishing the last chapter didn’t want t see it end, but like the L word, like tibette chemistry, all good things but come to end….Bravo!! my friend I hope to see a book with your name on it forreal..til next story………

You did an absolutely remarkable job with this. The story telling, the storyline, the interweaving of the characters, seasons, cannon and AU was beyond incredible. You have amazing talent and I hope to read more of your incredible work. Amazingly done!
