    Bette, Tina, Dana, Alice, Shane, Carmen, Helena, Dylan, Kit, Angus, Peggy, and Marilyn discover what John Lennon said in the song, “Beautiful Boy” is absolutely true: “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.”

     

    Carmen sniffed as if to say, ‘don’t flatter yourself.’

     

    “Am I wrong?” Shane asked.  “You won’t think about the last time I diddled your hard little thing and then pushed my fingers inside that hot pussy of yours?”

     

    “Shane,” Carmen said with a catch in her throat.

     

    “Or how I sucked on those big, sweet tits of yours?”

     

    “Please, baby.”

     

    “Or how I rubbed my stuff up against yours?  Both of us getting so hot…and so wet?”

     

    “Shane.  Jesus.”

     

    Shane smiled when she saw Carmen’s fingers move beneath the lacy underwear she wore.  “That’s right, baby.  Show me what you’ll do when you think about it.”  Carmen looked into Shane’s eyes.  She was going to give in to her soon; Shane knew it.  Shane hooked her fingers into the waistband of the panties and slid them down Carmen’s ass, legs, and then off.  Carmen had moved her hand to rest on her belly, but Shane picked it up, caressed it, and then placed it on her triangle.  “Show me.”

     

    “I…this isn’t my thang.”

     

    “Pretend I’m not here.  Close your eyes.”  Shane’s hand slid over Carmen’s calf and thigh.  “Close ‘em.”

     

    Carmen closed her eyes.  If she was going to do this, maybe this was the only way—not having to see her watching her.

     

    “Good, Carm.  Are you gonna think about the way I run my fingers up your leg?”

     

    Shane’s hand was there, almost tickling, but Carmen wasn’t laughing.  She hadn’t moved her hand either.  Shane moved Carmen’s hand to her breast.  “Touch it.”

     

    Carmen’s eyes opened, with dark pupils, she implored Shane to play the role of lover; she wasn’t comfortable doing that in front of her.  Shane shook her head, and then spread Carmen’s fingers, then squeezed her thumb and index finger together so that they trapped a hard nipple.  Shane pushed Carmen’s hand into the full breasts.  “Play with your tits, baby.  For me.  Show me how you’ll miss me.  They’re so big and fine.  I know you like it.  Those nips are so hard.”

     

    Carmen moaned.  It did feel good to caress her breast.  She moved her other hand up from where it rested at her side and she covered her other breast.  Shane breathed deeply as she watched Carmen squeeze and twist her nipple.   Shane saw Carmen’s hips move and she grinned, though Carmen didn’t notice as her eyes were closed.

That for me is remarkable. Jenny’s death in season 5 and her magazine being thrown in the pool – what can I say, your attention to detail is a gold standard in fanfic.     13. I read this chapter as slowly as I could so that I could savor every word of it. It was worth me taking the time, although I was fully aware that each time I clicked “Next page” I was that much closer to the finish. This was a fantastic end to such a richly layered story. Everyone got their ending, and each and every one of them earned it… the struggles each couple/family had to overcome to get to their happiness made it all the more believable. You didn’t cheat, Portia, not the readers, not the story. This has been such an absolute treat to read, through all the highs and lows, and I’ve loved every single word of it. (And kudos for not forgetting Jenny this chapter! heh) Thank you, Portia, for writing this story and taking us on the journey with you. Take care, and I hope we see another story from you soon.

    18. well after about a month and a half im finally finish with your story and as I wrote you before I truly believe you are a gift to writing and taking readers along for the experience. I had to stop several times for work or sleep but it was well worth the time. I prolonged finishing the last chapter didn’t want t see it end, but like the L word, like tibette chemistry, all good things but come to end….Bravo!! my friend I hope to see a book with your name on it forreal..til next story………

You did an absolutely remarkable job with this. The story telling, the storyline, the interweaving of the characters, seasons, cannon and AU was beyond incredible.
