    Bette, Tina, Dana, Alice, Shane, Carmen, Helena, Dylan, Kit, Angus, Peggy, and Marilyn discover what John Lennon said in the song, “Beautiful Boy” is absolutely true: “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.”

     

    “Shane?”

     

    Shane’s arms unlocked and came from behind to rest on Carmen’s abdomen again.  She rubbed her skin gently, but did no more.

     

    “Baby?”

     

    “Start?” Shane asked again.

     

    “I want my girlfriend to do me,” she answered.

     

    Shane shrugged.  “I’m gonna be gone for a week.  What are you gonna do then?  Show me what you’ll do while I’m gone.”

     

    “I’m going to be driving Shay to school and taking him to soccer and buying groceries and all that shit, Shane.”

     

    “And at night?  Are you gonna be steppin’ out?  Callin’ Papi?”  Shane had never really let that die.  She had been jealous the night Carmen had gone dancing with her old friend.  So jealous that Shane had gone to the club to either meet her or catch her.

     

    “No, I’m not callin’ Papi.”

     

    “What if your pussy aches on Monday?  What are you gonna do about it?”

     

    Carmen cleared her throat.  “Well, you won’t be here, so I guess…”

     

    “What?”

     

    “But you’re here now,” Carmen whined.

     

    Shane’s hand came up to where Carmen’s fingers met the elastic of her panties.  The fingertips were barely inside the panties.  “Okay.”  Shane moved Carmen’s hand.  “You want me to take care of you, baby.”

     

    “Yes.  That’s what I’ve been tryin’ to tell you.”

     

    “Shane made circles on Carmen’s abdomen.  Her voice was husky yet tender, “But I really, really, really want you to touch yourself in front of me.  I wanna watch.  I really, really want to look at that sweet face of yours when you’re touching your clit.”

     

    “Shane?”

That for me is remarkable. Jenny’s death in season 5 and her magazine being thrown in the pool – what can I say, your attention to detail is a gold standard in fanfic.     13. I read this chapter as slowly as I could so that I could savor every word of it. It was worth me taking the time, although I was fully aware that each time I clicked “Next page” I was that much closer to the finish. This was a fantastic end to such a richly layered story. Everyone got their ending, and each and every one of them earned it… the struggles each couple/family had to overcome to get to their happiness made it all the more believable. You didn’t cheat, Portia, not the readers, not the story. This has been such an absolute treat to read, through all the highs and lows, and I’ve loved every single word of it. (And kudos for not forgetting Jenny this chapter! heh) Thank you, Portia, for writing this story and taking us on the journey with you. Take care, and I hope we see another story from you soon.

    18. well after about a month and a half im finally finish with your story and as I wrote you before I truly believe you are a gift to writing and taking readers along for the experience. I had to stop several times for work or sleep but it was well worth the time. I prolonged finishing the last chapter didn’t want t see it end, but like the L word, like tibette chemistry, all good things but come to end….Bravo!! my friend I hope to see a book with your name on it forreal..til next story………
