    Le Bandwagon – 6.01

It had been rough; from the ER to the OR they had lost her not once, but twice.  Her heart stopped, and the ER doctors had labored over her, for the longest minutes of Bette’s life, until finally the beating had begun again, in uneven banging of the heart drums.  Bette had been sure that she’d have lost her mind if Tina had died, or if they lost their child again.  Not again, no god would be cruel enough to do that to her.

                Or was he that cruel?

A shiver rose up from the base of her spine, to the back of her neck, radiating through her limbs.  She was cold, so cold, as the goose bumps rode up and down her arms raising the fine hairs.  So, she stood, not wanting to wake Angelica from her slumber, tiptoed over to Tina, and pushed back the soft blonde curls that hung on her cheeks.

She looked like the perfect angel, and Angelica looked so much like Tina, Bette saw the instant resemblance between Tina and the baby.  The same chin and the same curl of their lips when they smiled, and Bette could envision all the future pictures of them together and it made Bette smile.

“See, Angelica, how much you look like your mom?” asked Bette, the hot tears now falling from her eyes.  The tears fell onto Tina’s cheek, and the baby kicked and cooed softly as if understanding just what Bette was saying.

“Is that my granddaughter?” asked Eliza Kennard from the doorway.  Bette looked up, seeing the woman for the first time in five years, and nodded.  Stunned that Eliza had made the trip from her home in Texas to see how Tina was doing, to say that the relationship between Tina and her mother was strained was putting it mildly.

“What did…?” began Eliza, pointing to the child with a long finger.

“Angelica, we’re naming her Angelica Jade Kenter,” Bette said, in a soft and loving voice as she kissed Angelica’s cheek with love.  “A.J. for short,” she added.  Eliza moved over to the baby, never once looking at Tina, but only at the child.  She acted as though Tina didn’t even exist.  She touched the soft red hair that was peppering her head.

    1. This story is brilliant! I love the spin of it being told in interludes through Angelica. I so am going to find more of it and if you haven’t got anymore I am going to be waiting oh so impatiently for the next chapter(s).

    2. Hello tjr, that was awesome… yes sometimes the things we want and need in life we have to work hard for. You really are going to make this family work hard for everything. Hmmmm a spy in the midst for Helena… I’m guessing that whole reconciliation thing between Bette and Tina is going to be even more awkward then having just Henry enter the scenario. With Helena… Tina will be very conflicted seeing as though she was the one there for almost the whole pregnancy and so forth… hmmmm… this has so many potentials to drive the sheep crazy… opps did I say sheep wink wink(I’m a TiBetter when it comes to the show but I love this kind of crazy drama) I cannot wait for you to bring it on… cause its ON… Sincerely, JC (oh by the way I got my book… and its beautiful… I’m working out a review for your page :P… and I’m reading that other story you mentioned and will be getting back to you on that… and well I have an Idea involving L and Witchblade… hmmm something about Detective Porter… with a super enhanced magical gauntlet that just sends me into a tizzy… well I’ve bored you enough… talk to you soon)

    3. Hello again, what do you mean this is fiction… whenever I turn on my tv this is what I see… that isn’t fiction that is reality… oh wait… Abby to Sabrina… Sabrina to Abby… fiction I’m confused :P… hehe… reading this again awesome. Sincerely, JC

    4. Love angie being the narrator… of there is gonna be drama and lots of it! i expect nothing less, hehe..okay gonna fasten my selt belt cuz this is gonna be a wild ride…. :)

    5. Liking the story so far, it’s well written. What I don’t understand is why Tina is A.J’s birth mom, or just Mom and Bette is Bette and not Momma or something which makes it seem like Bette is not her other parent.
