The day that Dana told Alice she was still in love with her had been one of the worst and best days in Alice’s life. For months she had waited for Dana to say she still loved her, that some of it might still be there. To finally hear those words made Alice heart swell to the point that she thought it might burst. But it was to late. Too late for them to try again. Too late for everything.
“Lie down beside me.” Dana whispered. Alice willingly obliged, and carefully crawled up into the bed. Dana tried to move over to give her more room, but the pain from the movement made her moan. They stitches were still fresh. When she felt Alice go rigid in her motions she quickly calmed her. “I’m okay.” Alice stared at her suspiciously. “Really. I’m fine. Now lie down.” The last words sounded more like a plea than anything else. Alice lay down beside Dana and turned her head so that they could face each other. Dana slowly put her fingers in Alice’s hair and played with it, stroked it away from her forehead. “I’m really scared, Al. I don’t know what’s going to happen to me.”
“You don’t have to be scared. I’ll be here to take care of you.” Alice whispered and put her left hand on Dana’s cheek. “If you want me to.” She added, swiftly. Dana didn’t answer, she just kept her fingers in Alice’s hair. And then, ever so slowly, she reached in and kissed Alice, who was a little taken aback at first. But it didn’t even take her a second to open her mouth and let Dana in. Dana slowly explored Alice’s mouth. This was familiar ground, and yet somehow it felt new, like it was the first time. They both started to sob into the kisses, and suddenly it became intense. Intense in that way it was the last time they were together. Desperate, like it was the first and last time. Dana’s hands roamed all over Alice, who whimpered a little, still in the kiss. But the magic was broken when Dana groaned because of the pain again. Alice pulled away. “Are you all right?” She asked, worried.

Vaya – thank you so much. Your story gave Dana and Alice a sense of closure that I didn’t get from the show. They deserved the chance to battle Dana’s cancer together.
Man, you made me cry. (*sniffles)
thank you. this was much needed, and i totally wanted to see dana and alice get back togeter. at least before she died. :( i too had tears in my eyes as i was reading this. i miss danish.
I have some tear in my eyes this was a great post and I just hope that they all deal with it a bit better in the show great post I love it
Great post! I’m with ackemat in that it gave me a sense of closure I didn’t get from the show. And even though it’s a harsh reality, I hated the fact that Dana died alone. Very well written and I loved how went from the present and flashed back to Dana and Alice in the hospital. It made it seem more real. Great job!
Fantastic, I agree with Vaya as well
