Bette quickly finished her breakfast and got ready for work, her blue uniform was something she was no longer used to.

But the feeling didn’t last long.

The morning was quite quiet, being in the ward Bette didn’t see Tina, the pediatric ward was on the top floor and usually only the internal staff were around. All in all Bette had to admit to herself that she had really missed those little humans.

There were so many new ones, that Bette would get to know in a couple of days. They were adorable.

The feeling of Bette having her hands in the pockets of her coat was something strange, almost supernatural, but still intense and beautiful.

”wow, the rockstar is back”

Bette turned around

smiling as she met Alice and Dana in the upstairs cafeteria, her coffee in her right hand.

”it looks like it.”

”I’ll be on shift in pediatrics for the month Bette, we’ll be together” Dana said hugging her

”wow, at least I’ll have some allies.”

Dana and Alice laughed ”it’s so nice to have you here again my friend.” Alice said sincerely.

”me too.”

”Have you seen Tina?”

”No…um…I knew she had an operation with orthopedics…”

”Yes at 11, but she still hasn’t seen my message…” Bette replied disappointedly looking at her iphone.

”Hey…orthopedics? The new orthopedics? Doctor Karen? God…”

”Alice…” Dana rolled her eyes ”holy shit, I’m right here next to you.”

”Hey honey…just because I love you doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate some kind of beauty, Karen is so…wow.”

Bette narrowed her eyes without showing any signs of anger, in reality she wasn’t angry, she had known Alice all her life, jokes were her specialty, she loved gossip, she should have been a journalist.

Alice and scoops were the same thing.

”hey Bette, is Tina the type to joke? are they flirting with the scalpel you say?”

Bette laughed ”Tina is very talkative, it can be…” Bette continued towards the elevators and Alice followed her shocked.

”what? aren’t you jealous? I would be after that….” Alice stopped, Dana a few steps away from her and Bette pressed the elevator button watching her from her shoulder.
