LENOX HILL HOSPITAL-15
”after Callie cheated on me?” Bette raised an eyebrow.
”sorry Bette…”
”no you’re right Al, but you know… I won’t get jealous, and Tina… is not Callie.”
The evening air was cold, there was a light mist of fog, Bette pulled up her coat, she had spent the last three months almost always at home in the afternoon and going out now seemed like a mistake with that cold, but it was just a matter of habit, she knew.
She stared at the sky some small stars could already be seen.
”Bette…”
a small and delicate voice pulled her out of her thoughts.
”little one!” Bette shouted happily seeing little Angie running towards her, Tina a few steps away with several bags in her hands.
Angelica ran into Bette’s arms holding her tightly with her little hands. Bette caught her in her arms happily.
”So how did school go?”
”Good, will you eat minestrone too?”
Bette laughed out loud as she could feel Tina’s touch on her elbow in a necessary caress, their eyes met lovingly.
”Hey…”
”hey…I looked for you during lunch break…”
”I looked for you this morning, but then there was an emergency…I was worried about you…”
Bette leaned over and kissed the blonde’s lips softly while Angelica was still in her arms ”everything went well, you don’t have to worry…I just wanted to see you…”
”me too…” Tina whispered close to Bette’s face.
”so what about minestrone?” Bette laughed
”yes, you’ll come eat it, Angie would like it…she hates minestrone but with you it will be better…” Tina said softly.
”I accept the invitation…” Bette said causing a happy smile in Tina.
”I can’t believe she finished it all.” Tina was washing the dishes, shocked at what had happened.
”Tee…kids are always better when there’s someone new besides their parents. It’s a law.” Bette gave a genuine smile ”anyway, I’m glad I could help.”
Tina turned around ”you always do that…” then went back to the sink while Bette got comfortable on the couch turning on the TV.
”so Dr. Karen?”
”what do you know?” Tina answered distractedly
