    Living for Love: Chapter 15

Steve said, ‘I’ve been there a couple of time. Good place. Nice people. Have you had any medical problems since you started these diets? Even minor ones.’

Dana answered, ‘Not many. When my system was adapting, I was sometimes tired and nauseated. These days, I can go about a normal routing like it’s any other day.’

Steve asked, ‘Do you fully understand the risks of working in a gymnasium; with people who sweat, spit, and bleed? What safety precautions have you taken to assure you health and the well being of anyone you come in contact with?’

Dana felt an intimidating vibe from Steve. She knew that he was concerned with the safety of the members. Even though cancer wasn’t passed on through a simple touch or a kiss, she understood where he was coming from.

Dana said, ‘I do. And I can assure you that I will take any safety precautions for my sake and for the members.’

She didn’t want to make a grand stand just yet. But she didn’t to leave it at that. But she did.

Steve asked, ‘What day would you be available to start?’

Dana answered, ‘Tomorrow morning at 8:00.’

Steve asked, ‘What if I need you at 6:00 to help open up the gym? Not just the tennis court, but the whole building.’

Dana answered, ‘Then I would be here at 6:00.’

Steve asked, ‘Are you available for part time work?’

Dana was head set on full time work with full time status and benefits. She didn’t want minimum wage for 16 hours a week with no benefits. So, Dana did the only thing she could do.

    Dana answered, ‘Yes, sir.’

Steve asked, ‘Would you be willing to work the entire gymnasium or just in the tennis court?’

Dana answered, ‘I can work the whole gym, sir.’

Steve asked, ‘What exactly can you offer the members in regards to their health and well being?’

Dana answered, ‘As a professional athlete, I can offer a rigorous work ethic based on strength, discipline, and respect. Those were the main qualities I learn when I was in training and when I was in physical therapy.’

Steve asked, ‘What if you have to deal with someone who’s handicapped or crippled?’

Dana answered, ‘I was taught to treat people with dignity and respect. I understnad that there are limits to what anybody can do and I am prepared to work with them. Even if they are handicapped physically or mentally.’

    1. I loved how A preped D for the interview. Now I am not sure if it would be the best job for her. Starting at 6am? There would be so little time for A because D would be all tired out when she returned from the gym. Furthermore, I thought Steve was a little cold to D. Could she look for something else instead, like a tennis coaching job. I knew it, the pictures on the dance floor. Can’t wait to read all about it. Thank you BoyToy. pps.
