    “Is tonight the first time you’ve danced with a woman?” Tina asked and Bette nodded. “Would you like to dance with me?”

    The two were stunned to silence, watching Bette for signs that she was joking. Bette was easily able to keep a straight face because she was completely serious.

    Tina looked between the three not at all sure what was going on but found herself enjoying the thought Bette staking ownership of her, even if it was in play.

    Tina put her arm around Bette. “Absolutely. You two are way too slow on the draw.”

    “Guess you’ll just have to settle for me tonight then Marina, my love.” Helena conceded as she wrapped her arms around the Italian beauty.

    “Mmnn, you just remember that when 50 of Shane’s closest lesbian friends show up and make their moves on you.” Marina warned.

    “Oh I only have eyes for you.”

    “Oh please. I’m barely hanging on to lunch here. Wanna save it for your room?” Alice chastised as she and Dana sat down on one of the couches.

    Tina pulled Bette over to one of the padded bars stools and gestured for her to sit. “Since Shane isn’t back yet for picking up Carmen, tell me who’s drinking what?”

    Tina went behind the bar and started filling the ice buckets. “Don’t tell me. You and Shane were bartenders too.” Bette stated.

    Tina grinned and nodded. “We needed to make a living in LA. Its actually where I met Kate. After Tim started recovering from his accident and I have realized I wouldn’t have a tennis career to go back to, I went to visit Shane in LA. Production assistants didn’t get paid that much.

    “TK, I’ll have a cosmo.” Alice requested.

    “God Al, you’re such a girl.”

    “Well, its good that you recognize that.” Al shot back.

    “Tina, can you do margaritas for us?” Helena asked.

    “Coming right up.” Tina answered. “At the risk of stereotyping, would you like one?” Tina asked Bette.

    Bette laughed. “I suppose I can do one tonight.”

    Tina grinned while she made the drinks, remembering all the crazy times she and Shane had bartending and very happy to be surrounded by her friends.

    “What kind of bartender are you to not have the music playing?” Shane called out as she entered the room, leading a gorgeous long haired brunette behind her.

    6. NOT that I condone adultery, but in this case with the husband being such a “DICK” and Tina and her are really ment to be, I am doing a happy dance. Glad for Dana and Tina going after her girl. Can’t wait for Bette to come into her own. Tina is going to be in heaven and will reap all the rewards!! Please post soon!!!

I’ve not commented so far, ’cause I was late… but I really like this story : I like tennis, and tenniswomen (go Amélie, go !!) but I also like your story for its original point of view : I liked that you reversed the “usual” situation, Tina being the lesbian, and Bette being the married “straight” one , unsure of herself, (even if she is still very alpha)… I don’t know exactly when is the US Open… but I hope you won’t finish too soon : after so long waiting before coming to the point, these two need time to enjoy, heh ?!! (and we need it too…) so please, go on with the story ASAP !
