    “Is tonight the first time you’ve danced with a woman?” Tina asked and Bette nodded. “Would you like to dance with me?”

    Just as she was moving out from behind the bar, a tall, rather butch woman leaned over it. “You’re not going to stop serving just as I got here to meet you, are you?” Tina laughed at the line the woman gave her. In her bar days, she had heard them all and was pretty immune to them.

    “She’s not the bartender, but she is with me.” Tina turned to see Bette standing there, stretched to her full 5’10’’ and staring unblinking at the woman as she reached over took and Tina’s hand.

    The woman gave a friendly smile and held up her hands in a gesture of surrender before she moved away.

    “Bette. That was very alpha for a straight girl.” Tina commented with a small smile.

    Bette scowled at her in confusion, obviously not familiar with the term. “I’m sorry if I was presumptuous. If you are interested in her, I can go set her straight.” Bette offered as she moved towards the woman only to be held back by Tina’s hand.

    “I’m with the person I want to be with.” Tina said as the two gazed at one another. “Dance with me.”

    Bette followed Tina out onto the deck and stood there awkwardly when Tina stopped and turned. “Is tonight the first time you’ve danced with a woman?” Tina asked and Bette nodded. “Would you like to dance with me?”

    Bette nodded again, her trepidation slipping to be replaced by want and relief at her acceptance of her feelings for Tina.

    With the slow song, Bette slipped her hands around Tina’s waist and felt Tina do the same. Tina’s fingers on her bare back sent tremors through her. Bette pulled back and looked at Tina’s face, recalling the first time she had gazed upon it and knew now that she had truly fallen in love with her at that moment.

    Tina reached one of her hands up and caressed Bette’s face and then ran her fingers lightly across Bette’s lips. Bette took the hand in hers and kissed the fingers tips, not breaking away from Tina’s eyes until she closed her eyes and leaned down to kiss her. What started out gently quickly escalated. Unlike Jody’s thick and aggressive kissing, Tina’s tongue asked for permission to enter her mouth and when granted touched it lightly against Bette’s urging a dance. The kiss caused Bette to feel weak and strong at the same time. She gripped Tina tighter to her, holding with one hand low on her waist and the other in her hair ensuring that she wouldn’t stop kissing her. This is the first time that Bette felt that being this physical was mutual. She knew she was losing herself and a sudden feeling of trepidation came upon her. She broke away abruptly.

    6. NOT that I condone adultery, but in this case with the husband being such a “DICK” and Tina and her are really ment to be, I am doing a happy dance. Glad for Dana and Tina going after her girl. Can’t wait for Bette to come into her own. Tina is going to be in heaven and will reap all the rewards!! Please post soon!!!

I’ve not commented so far, ’cause I was late… but I really like this story : I like tennis, and tenniswomen (go Amélie, go !!) but I also like your story for its original point of view : I liked that you reversed the “usual” situation, Tina being the lesbian, and Bette being the married “straight” one , unsure of herself, (even if she is still very alpha)… I don’t know exactly when is the US Open… but I hope you won’t finish too soon : after so long waiting before coming to the point, these two need time to enjoy, heh ?!! (and we need it too…) so please, go on with the story ASAP !
