Love in Control – Chapter VIII – Will You Marry Me?
“I noticed,” came the sardonic reply.
The man chuckled as he set the table up. Two cappuccinos, a basket of the hotel’s signature breads and pastries, a large bowl of fruit, and the Saturday edition of the New York Times.
“So what did the card say?”
Silence from Tina.
Nothing from the beautiful brunette on the bed either.
The waiter turned to look up at the beautiful blonde who’d answered the door, after carefully laying thin wafers of chocolate on each rim of the steaming cappuccino cups. She seemed to be teary-eyed.
In a voice that was cracking, Tina answered. “You well know what the card says, babe.”
He took that as his cue to leave.
They exchanged half-smiles as they passed each other: he on his way out the door, she on her way to the bed. Where her wife lay waiting.
“Has it really been this long since that first time in Paris, Bette?” Tina asked softly as she lay the bouquet of roses on an empty bowl that sat on top of a small table. She selected one of the longest stems with a fully formed rose. She continued walking to the bed, unbelting her robe, pulling the towel off of her hair.
“I think so,” Bette answered, eyes widening as Tina approached, shrugging off the robe, slipping a rose between her teeth. The pinkness of the beautiful rose in full flower matched the natural shade of her wife’s lips, Bette thought in passing as butterflies fluttered in her tummy and her throat started to go dry. She discarded the paper she was still holding, for some reason.
Tina presented the rose to Bette, climbing over the brunette and thrusting her mouth closer to her wife’s, noting with satisfaction the clear lust reflecting in those impossibly beautiful brown orbs.
“That first time in Paris. Feels like it was just yesterday, to me,” the blonde whispered after Bette accepted the rose, and their lips hovered over each other.
Bette tried to swallow, clutching the rose with her fingers. “Um… fe-feels like just yesterday…uh huh.” She felt those sexy, pink lips brush her own.
“You feeling nostalgic?” Tina asked softly before dipping her head again. She felt Bette’s lips curve into a smile beneath the soft kiss she gave the brunette.

Nice, enjoyed it especially Tina and Bette in the beginning
I agree the beginning was a laugh with Bette and Tina????
Love it! loved the homage to his #purple majesty Prince!….”when doves cry…”great way to start the day! My thanks!
Oh, that was absolute worth the long wait!
Fantastic and sexy chapter, wouldn’t mind if you write more B&T in your story.
But Rian and Jade captured my heart, they are a great couple.
Thanks for the update!
You can be sure that yes, it was worth the wait
for another fantastic chapter!
My heart always Tibette, however Jade and Rian captivated me.
The whole universe
I’m with all the above especially wkm and Dee22 Tibette always.
Worth the wait, thanks.
Hello everyone. Thanks for taking the time to comment. A few caveats: the story arc for “Love In Control” will not have much Bette/Tina romance, although there will be occasional scenes. Their story is evolving in this book — the evolution will see them in a family unit, rather than as a couple. This particular arc started with scenes in earlier chapters, and will be more central in the next chapters. I think I’ve gone over their romance (exhaustively) in the other books already, anyway, and I really don’t have much more to say about “Tibette” than what I’ve already written in the other books.
I sense that it’s time that they evolve and mature in my stories, as characters, otherwise, their story arc will not make much sense if they remain struck in TiBette-land (at least in my storyline). To be perfectly honest, an evolving, maturing Bette/Tina, in the way I’ve been writing about them, is infinitely more interesting for me to write. I can sense them growing, and it seems to be as part of a family unit: this evolution is more authentic and important in this book than “TiBette.” it’s the other couples, in the meantime, who will be developing their own romances.
In the end this book is about a few kinds of love, what they mean, etc., but make no mistake the evolving Bette/Tina take on love remains the central/anchoring one for this book, particularly as things take a turn in the next chapters.
i may disappoint many of the readers who take the time to click through the pages of this story … I hope they will understand that I really can’t write a story if it’s not something I believe in or can stand behind, or would even want to read myself. I have moved on, and have explored the limits of that particular time in their lives through several books already, and so have the Bette and Tina characters in my storylines. They are different now from who they were in the TiBette version of the earlier books from who they seem to be growing into —
maybe I should re-classify this book to another fandom, different from “L Word” even if Bette and Tina and their family are central characters?
I seem to be raising expectations by slotting this book under “L Word.” And that’s not fair to you, the readers.
While Bette and Tina originally attracted me to your writing, your Jade/Rain and Aerin/Harley characters have captivated me. Their unexplored characters are ripe with endless plot lines. Don’t apologize for the lack of TiBette romance, as your other characters and your writing are rich enough to sustain my appetite for a romantic escape.
