Meet Me In Montauk; #05
I had chosen to wear a simple outfit for tonight, just my formal knee-length forest green dress and heels; nothing too out of the ordinary.
For some reason, I felt as if I was going out on a date, meeting someone for the first time.
“You have no reason to feel this way,” I said to my reflection in the mirror, “You have Tash, remember?”
I picked up my mobile and looked at my wallpaper; it was a photograph Tash and I had taken when we had gone for a road trip down to Mornington Peninsular. We were looking at each other laughing as the sun set brilliantly in the background.
I missed her.
I placed my phone into my handbag as I left my room, absent-mindedly pushing those thoughts to the back of my mind.
◊◊◊
Bette
She’s here, I know she’s here.
I stood at the side of the room, watching people filter in, unconsciously looking around for Helena Peabody, but I didn’t manage to catch a glimpse of her.
The General Manager of the Grand Hyatt Singapore, Keith Chan, appeared by my side.
“Ready?” he asked with a smile, giving my arm a squeeze for encouragement.
I threw him a nervous smile, “Yeap,” I replied, sounding more confident than I felt.
He walked up to the rostrum and adjusted the microphone, “Hello everyone,” he said, “Welcome to Singapore. I hope all of you have settled in. To start our meeting, we have invited one of our fellow colleagues, Bette Porter, to give a little speech. She has been one of the longest serving staff of our Hyatt family and we are proud to have her running three of our hotels back in Los Angeles. Please put your hands together and give her a warm welcome.”
Everyone started clapping as I slowly walked towards Keith, taking his place at the rostrum, smiling. There must have been about fifty people in the room; I took a deep breath as I grinned nervously, taking out the cards I had prepared for my speech.
“Hi,” I started, “Thank you for inviting me to share a little bit of my experiences at Hyatt. It has been an amazing journey and I have…”

I guess this is it, the start of the unstoppable force that is known as Belena. *sighs* I guess I’ll just have to deal with it. PPS
These two ladies are so in trouble. Wow, Bette flies all the way to Singapore from LA and she have to attend a meeting that same night, spends all night talking to Helena….man, she must be exhausted.
This was an excellent update. You know after working another long hour day, it feels good to come home and read several good stories. Thanks for the update! And I’m also happy that you like my story. Thanks for the support!
E this was a great chapter, and how finally how these two women met in person it was,,,,,ELECTRIFYING!!!!
Great update! I loved it! MORE MORE MORE!!!
You write their attraction very well. I would have to say they are in trouble. I’m still holding out for their partners at home. A one night stand hopefully won’t kill anybody. I’m so torn
Well Kena…let’s just go ahead and shed a tear now! Wahhhh! Maybe I should join the hopeless romantics, enjoy the dreaminess of it like Z and just be happy that they found each other! Not! lol! Seriously, really nice chemistry…they are indeed in trouble! Enjoying the story…PPS!!!
well done…loved the parallel thoughts!!! But how can you leave is hanging like that!! You are right, both have interesting relationships that aren’t exactly …but while you can manage your response, you cannot always help who you love!!! PPS
Oh no you did NOT just leave it there!! Not oven one kiss?? Now it is absolutely true that people get tired and can forget to meet obligations one time, or even more than one time..but it appeared to me that this was a habit with Tash, to let Helena take care of everything, to be the parent. I have to also imagine that Tina is making a habit of not being there for Bette, not just one time. Because if they are both lovely spouses who messed up one time, then Bette and Helena are just going to be complete jerks, and I don’t want them to be jerks. I want to be happy that they are finding each other and that they will find what they need with each other, and be happy with each other. As far as Tina being a workaholic like Bette was, I was under the impression that Bette was trying to keep her job, which was immensely demanding, cos she was the sole support of the family. i do not think she enjoyed working herself into the ground. At any rate, soon I hope, that they, at least, KISS!!!!!
Im first lovely update…I have to admit im captivated by all the women in this story…i could date them all nah just joking my gf wouldnt let me.and as always im a true loyal admirer of Helena…And btw our gfs are alike Euni because my gf loves Bette. Thanks for the update and advice…i do actually nofrmally hate critical advice but i have to admit i was a lil bummed like i was slipping all of a sudden…but i guess i can say ive took it in amy pride and with the next chapter you will see the improvements…Its made me day reading im having such a horrid time at the moment with me being ill and my gf even worse than me waiting for an operation it kinda sucks. Ok im boring you but keep up all the good work.
**Sigh** “She smiled and as our eyes met, I felt as if she was reading my soul.” … Oh, she was! She was! … I just woke up, eunibaby…but reading this put me into a dreamy state…Tanks!
