My Life, My Love, My Soul…My Forever Ch. 13

"Hi Max," Bette smiled. "And who is this?"

"This is Rose," Max smiled as he handed Bette the tiny little girl.  Tom walked over and stood beside Max. Bette passed the baby to Tina, who became very intrigued by the child.

"Bette," Tom began as he held out his hand.

    "Tom," Bette nodded.

After the others joined in with hugs and confessions of "I missed you’s",   Shane asked the inevitable question. "So Guys, what are you doing back in L.A?"

Just as Bette was starting to speak, Alice interrupted. ‘O my god, Tina?" Alice’s eyes ventured from Tina’s face, to her left hand, back to Tina’s face and back to her hand again. Tina smiled as each person’s face contorted with surprise, unbelief and Shane’s undeniable smile.

"When? Where? Tina you’re getting married?" Alice interrogated.

"We are getting married,’ Tina corrected as she held Bette’s mocha colored hand.

"Congratulations you guys," Shane commented as she tapped Bette’s arm.

"Yea, I’m so happy for you guys,” Tasha added.

"Bette. Tina. How wonderful," Helena smiled at her old friends.

The others added their congratulations, however Alice sat, still dumbfounded with her mouth still slightly parted.

"Since when Tina?" She finally spoke.

"About three- four weeks ago," Tina answered

"And you didn’t tell me?" Alice scolded.

"We wanted to tell everyone. We were going to have a big dinner tonight," Bette explained.

Alice’s eyes moved between Bette and Tina’s faces and suddenly she acquired a jolt of energy and ran around the table huddling her two friends in a hug. Alice calmed herself and resumed her seat next to Tasha.

"So, when’s the big day?" Alice inquired.

"We’re not sure," Bette explained. "We have some," she looked at Tina and smiled. "We have some figuring out to do first."

"Figuring out?" Helena questioned. "Are you two…" she trailed off.

"We’re not sure," Tina responded. "I mean, the jobs for Bette are amazing, but I don’t want to work with Shoalin again and I’m not so sure  if I could find anything job like the one I have now. I’m a pretty big deal in New York and I kinda like it."

"Yeah, and I like not being at work all the time. I stay home with Angie most days. The only times I don’t is when I’m advising the curators for a few museums. They come to me for advice and I get paid for it." Bette interjected.
