NEW YORK MINUTE
CHAPTER 60
Bette was supervising breakfast – that involved feeding Sheba who had always eaten whatever food she had been left over night. She had to be fed first otherwise she got under everyone’s feet and Tina had blotted her copy book with the kitten by standing on her tail the morning before. So Bette fed Sheba first and she went off into her corner with her food and kitten milk – which let Bette get on feeding her family. Shane was still in bed so Bette was just rustling up scrambled eggs on toast for Tina, Angie and herself. Today was Angie’s first day back at school and she was really looking forward to it. Tina came into the kitchen as Bette was stirring the eggs
“You okay ?”
“Worried “ Tina admitted
Bette looked at Tina “She’s not going to be there “
“What if she is ?”
“I kick her ass “ Bette replied “Look – she has been fired – an incident in front of the school will not do her any good. She probably doesn’t know yet that she is going to get a very bad report from the school which will put paid to any hope she might have of getting another job”
“I have been thinking about that “
“Yes “
“I just want her to leave us alone – if we cause trouble “
“We are not causing trouble – she started it – she confronted you and Angie – she scared both of you – she lied on her resume – she showed herself off to be a bigot. This is not a fight that we started Tina but I am not about to run away “
Tina sighed “I know that – I just want to get on with our lives – I don’t really want to make her unemployable “
“Do you think she is a good teacher ?”
“I have no idea – she was wrong to teach Angie”
Bette reached across and took Tina’s hand
“Its okay – she is not going to upset you or Angie – we did the right thing by getting her out of the school “
“I know – I guess I am just jumpy that’s all “

Thanks for the update AllyE. Great chapter. Hope that sister does not show her face anytime soon, in fact, hope those people leave the area period. Tina being with Bette for a few days will help her a lot and make her feel much more safe. Shane being with them will also help everyone feel safer, especially Tina. Congrats on reaching another milestone, that’s fantastic. Kudos.

Glad Angie is back at school with her little friends. The exchange between her and Shane was funny. Hopefully Tina fears are not warranted and her sister does not know where they live and if she does hopefully with Bette by her side, they will give he a beat down. You know all of a sudden I have a sinking feeling that Shane is going to accidently allow Tina’s sister into their lives. I will stay tune.
