    Chapter 27, part 2: Lives connected through time and space (breakfast at Tiffany…I mean at the Planet and Bette meets Kit Porter)

    Finally, they both were ready to go and meet the girls at The Planet. Tina was driving and the traffic was a little heavy for Sunday morning but it gave Bette chance to look around.

    They were passing the California Art Center where Tina took her miniature to be restored and Bette suddenly felt an overwhelming desire to visit this little gallery. She saw several banners around the Center announcing that the ‘Impressions in Winter’ exhibit was coming soon.

    “Tina,” she asked excitedly, “What is this place? It looks like there is going to be an art exhibition in November.”

    Tina looked in the direction that Bette was pointing and said, as she continued to drive towards The Planet, “That is the California Art Center. We call it the CAC. It’s a nice little gallery and I know the director there. He actually helped me restore Christina’s miniature. Would you like to go and visit it some time?”

    “Oh yes, I would love too. Do we have to wait until November?”

    “No, Bette,” Tina smiled, “There’re other paintings there for display and we can go tomorrow if you want. And then we can go in November also for the show. They always have interesting collections and exhibitions.”

    “Okay,” Bette said happily and continued to look around, turning her head left and right and sometimes even pointing at some buildings or people that caught her attention.

    Tina was amazed at Bette’s desire to learn and see everything. She had endless energy and a very perceptive mind. She was a very quick learner but she also reminded Tina of a child who was brought out into this new world and look around with a big eyes and happy smile.

    Place: Los Angeles, CA – The Planet

    The Planet wasn’t too crowded when they arrived and Tina took Bette to the table where the gang usually sat. She ordered two fruit salads and coffee and looked around to see if Kit was there.

    Nobody was in sight and they enjoyed their breakfast when finally Tina spotted Kit coming out of her office and she waved at her new friend. Kit gave Tina a friendly smile and after saying something to the girl at the counter, walked to their table.

    2. WHAAAAT ?!! You definitely picked my curiosity with this last revelation. But actually, at this point, it’s much more than just curiosity, I just need to know ! PPS !!

    6. I have been in a terrible Post-TLW funk (I know, join the crowd) so have fallen way behind in my fan fic reading. Catching up with your chapters has been a thrill. Tina’s and Bette’s respective leaps of faith are moving and Bette’s tentative steps into the 21st century are so poignant. I love this story’s humor and its incredible inventiveness. I can’t wait for each plot twist and giddily await the next chapter. Sorry I’ve been absent for a few weeks.

    15. Drama, drama, drama…! Wow, that’s interesting… I wonder what Alice found about Bette and what impact it will have. Bette and Tina are really cute together and I love this Bette… Both frightened and eager to know about this 21st century world. It’s endearing to see Tina being jealous of her 19th version! But I also understand her fears. Bette would have every reason to want to go back to her own world, especially with Christina alive in it… Every reason, except the main one… Be with her true love, the one and only Tina Kennard! Now Bette, what will you choose…? Thanks for this update, B&TF. Great as usual, and looking forward to the next one. Cheers, mate! K ;)
