    Chapter 27, part 2: Lives connected through time and space (breakfast at Tiffany…I mean at the Planet and Bette meets Kit Porter)

    “Al,” Tina cut her short, staring at her with big eyes, “I think Kit is more interested in your escapades in the nineteenth century.”

    “Oh, yes, I understand and let me assure you, Ms. Porter…” Alice began but Kit, who by this time appeared to be less irritable, interrupted her and said more calmly, “Call me Kit.”

    “Okay…Kit…I understand how it looks but please, let me explain and when you know what happened exactly, you will see that I had no choice.”

    “Tina told me briefly what happened and I just want to say that you don’t do this kind of shit. You don’t play around with fate…who knows how your actions changed things and shaped the history or how Bette’s presence here will affect the balance in the universe and the future.”

    “What would you have done in my place? I couldn’t just leave Bette there in the woods. She surely would have been killed by those fucking lunatics as well.”

    “Okay, okay,” Kit said, closing her eyes for a moment. She inhaled deeply and said, “Let’s think rationally and logically. Now, that Elizabeth…Bette is here, what do you plan to do with her? She doesn’t belong in this time. She has no identity, no documents. You can’t hide her in your house forever, Tina. And she’s so strikingly beautiful that in no time people will start asking questions, especially in West Hollywood.”

    “Well,” Tina said slowly, not really knowing what to say, “I haven’t really thought that far yet. I’m so hopelessly in love with her that I’ll do anything to make her happy…whatever it might be.”

    “Tina, before we can discuss how to introduce Bette to others and what to do with her you guys need to hear what I found in Sacramento,” Alice said, scratching her head and sitting down next to Tina.

    Tina looked at her quizzically and Alice began to explain her findings, “The bottom line is that I found three very important things about Bette Porter or things that might affect Bette Porter and we need to decide what, if any of it, can be revealed to Bette.”

    “So, what exactly are those three important things, Alice?” Tina asked nervously, feeling that those findings can’t be good since Alice was talking really seriously about it.

    2. WHAAAAT ?!! You definitely picked my curiosity with this last revelation. But actually, at this point, it’s much more than just curiosity, I just need to know ! PPS !!

    6. I have been in a terrible Post-TLW funk (I know, join the crowd) so have fallen way behind in my fan fic reading. Catching up with your chapters has been a thrill. Tina’s and Bette’s respective leaps of faith are moving and Bette’s tentative steps into the 21st century are so poignant. I love this story’s humor and its incredible inventiveness. I can’t wait for each plot twist and giddily await the next chapter. Sorry I’ve been absent for a few weeks.

    15. Drama, drama, drama…! Wow, that’s interesting… I wonder what Alice found about Bette and what impact it will have. Bette and Tina are really cute together and I love this Bette… Both frightened and eager to know about this 21st century world. It’s endearing to see Tina being jealous of her 19th version! But I also understand her fears. Bette would have every reason to want to go back to her own world, especially with Christina alive in it… Every reason, except the main one… Be with her true love, the one and only Tina Kennard! Now Bette, what will you choose…? Thanks for this update, B&TF. Great as usual, and looking forward to the next one. Cheers, mate! K ;)
