Out of Closet (B&T time-travel romance), Ch. 43

“Well…after I remembered that encounter in the forest with the crazy lady, I can’t stop thinking about that. What did she mean when she said, ‘Your destiny has just found you…now it’s your turn’? I just keep thinking about it and the vision of that meeting has been in my head ever since. I don’t understand it and it unsettles me.”

“What ideas have you came up with so far?” Tina asked, knowing that she was also unsettled by this whole situation. “Maybe if we think together we can come up with some answers.”

“Honestly, I can’t think of any plausible explanation. There are possibilities but they seem so unreal and improbable. One of them is far-fetched but worth a shot,” Bette replied, shrugging her shoulders, “I was wondering if she was talking about Christina. You know, like something maybe happened to her on that day that made the oracle predict that Christina and I would meet.”

“Do you know how old was Christina when you were 16?” Tina asked, pondering over this possibility.

“I’m not sure, but I think she was about my age.”

“Anything else you can think of?” Tina asked again, trying to get the jealous thoughts of Christina out of her head.

“Well, another possibility is the time portal because the oracle’s hut used to be in the depths of the grove where the portal was found. She could be hinting that time travel was predestined for me, but how could she have known, unless she was really an oracle,” Bette replied pensively, “Other than these two options nothing else comes to mind.”

“One thing for sure…we need to find your diary. Maybe there are some clues in the entry for that day because you wrote it right after the event and your memory was still fresh.”

“I hope so because this memory will haunt me now until we can figure out what it meant,” Bette said calmly and closed her eyes again.

The holidays were over and on Tuesday they returned to the Porter mansion to resume filming. Things with the documentary were running smoothly and it kept them both really busy.

Alice was coming in from L.A. every week and staying in the mansion for a few days, working on her article but mostly searching, making friends with everybody, snooping around and taking notes.

    1. Yay you’re back! I was wondering what happened to you. I usually don’t PM the writers because I don’t want to pester them but I can make an exception for you. LOL.

    2. I enjoy this story a lot. But I think I need to re-read it b/c I think I missed something major…I have no idea what Tina’s secret is. What does she need to tell Bette about Christina and why has she been hiding it?…lol, really love the story!
