“That was really lovely.” Helena said. “But next time, I want to take off the rest of this.” She grinned and tugged at Bette’s shirt.

Alice knocked politely on the door, interrupting them after they had rested and cuddled for a few minutes.

“Ummmm…guys…I’m sorry to be a pain, but the baby is mistaking Dylan for a functional momma, if you know what I mean…Catherine and I think it’s pretty funny, but I think Caiohme is hungry and getting annoyed that Dylan isn’t of any use to her…” Alice’s rambling ended when Helena opened the door, walking out to take the baby.  Bette burst into laughter at the sight of Dylan’s confused expression.

“You know…” Aikane, walked in smiling at them. “In a lot of societies, women breast feed one another’s babies. It’s completely natural, and no one feels possessive about it.”

Helena gazed down lovingly at her daughter. “I wouldn’t mind the extra help, but this doesn’t feel like hard work exactly.” She said, looking up again.

Alice smirked at Bette, patting her on the arm. “Heya studmuffin, ready to go to town?”

Bette sighed, wishing she and Helena could have some alone time before all of this. But she consented, following Aikane and Alice out the door.

Alice and Bette met Lara near the front of the shopping mall. Aikane met with two young men who brought guns for the others.

“Ok, so, the plan is to drive to the hardware store and take what we need, fast.” Aikane handed out guns as she spoke.  “One team will do that. The other team will wait at the hospital, watching to ensure that things run smoothly. The best snipers should stay at the hospital. The best runners should hit the hardware store.”

“Ummm…” Alice looked at them all worridly. “I’m sorta neither. Maybe I’m not the best person to go out today. I just thought I’d use the Chopper to get around.”

“It’s fine, we can cover everyone.” One of the young men spoke softly. Aikane nodded, “I’ll stay back as well. We’re all good shots. We practiced target shooting in the ice rink of the mall during our first few months.” She showed off the scopes on all of the guns, explaining the workings of the weaponry.

    1. I just managed to get caught up with this. By all rights, it shouldn’t be half as captivating as it is, since it’s pretty strange…but I fucking LOVE it. I guess that speaks more for my own morbidity than it does anything else, but I’m really enjoying this. I may not make a hell of a lot of sense, but it’s still well done. I’m glad you’re still continuing it.

    2. I thought Al was done for… And although that was quite tastefully done, that’s about all the Tina I want to see in this story. Ace chapter… Now I’ll have to skive some more and read Life Happens. Thanks

    3. Ew, gouging out of eyes, I agree, I thought Al was done for, you’re mischievous when it comes to Tina, but you know that! I’m glad Al’s ok … stop scaring us like that, ok, don’t stop, cos then it wouldn’t be PT, but you know what I mean … grr .. hehe

    4. Un menage a trois? Mon Dieu! Took you long enough, I was considering sending another scolding your way. Death as an existance on an alternate plane? Philosophy on top of schlock horror? Get you, helebette. OK, so what’s the deal with Tina? Is she really from another plane or just the product of dream stuff? Is there a difference between the two? And what’s with the zombies getting stronger and smarter with time?

    5. Quelle nail-biter. I really hope Alice doesn’t end up zombified or dead. Zombification is a natural fit for Jenny, but Alice functions best as a human being. Not to mention that taking her out of the picture would deprive the survivors of some much-needed comic relief. LOVE the shopping-mall setting, with its Dawn of the Dead overtones (original version I hope).
