    Seemingly Lost Chptr. 11

Tina sat down on the couch and placed her elbows on her knees as her face sat in her hands. Her eyes were locked on the mug sitting on the floor obviously knocked over by the previous confrontation. Oddly enough it was the same mug Tina gave to Bette on a whim, the picture of the two bears hugging with a title beneath that read “You’re beary special to me.” somehow appealed to Tina. And she knew that Bette would be the only other to understand why. Bette noticed the connection Tina was having with the cup and she picked it up and very softly placed it back on the coffee table. She took a seat on the couch across from Tina very slowly, still trying to gauge her reaction to today’s madness.

“After you kissed me I drove around for a little while. Somehow I ended up parking in the Circuit City parking lot. My body was still floating after that, kiss. I sat in my car and I watched all the people pass by and I just couldn’t help the feeling of relief that washed through me. I don’t really know why I was so relieved. It was like a knot that I holding for so long was now gone and it felt so good. There were so many smiles that past by me. It was infectious.” Tina smiled slightly at the thought.

Bette’s mind was piqued at the word relief, she was expecting remorse, confusion, regret, anything but relief. She stayed silent and let Tina take control of the flow of conversation. Tina’s eyes were still glaring at the spot where the mug once laid, the intensity in her eyes were almost searching for the right words to say.

“When Jus and I first started going out and we had our open relationship, I figured you would step in and be there to take a spot on my card. I wanted you so bad” she finished softly behind closed eyes. “I used to wake up and think “Today’s gonna be the day, today’s gonna be the day that I tell Bette how I feel and tell her how I dream about our days together.” I wanted you to tell me… anything.” Tina brought her attention to the finger nail she kept running across her thumb.

    1. Wow! Bette was wrong but damn. Maybe Tina just needs a little time to calm down and what is this business about the car? Hope you don’t keep us waiting long to find out where Tina went.

    2. Damn, not only did Tina walk out of Justine’s sorry ass life but also Bette’s, the only person to truely love her. Some how those two need to work something out and soon.

    3. I am glad that Tina left Justine for good. However, Bette is heartbroken and she got worse treatment than the woman that Tina choose. Despite Bette’s bad choices Tina choose Bette’s cousin over her because she wasn’t brave enough to go for what she wanted and it let Bette believe that was what she wanted. Maybe Tina better take a hard look at herself because she started this mess. I am anxious to read the next chapter.
