Shane and Molly: A Love Story Chapters 1-6
The next morning, Shane is still asleep. Molly is awake and is just watching her. She runs her hand slowly up Shane’s arm and rests it upon her face. She gently kisses her lips, trying not to wake her. She eases away from Shane and slips out of the bed. She walks to the window where the sun is just starting to stream in, casting a glow on Shane. Molly is taken aback by the beauty of the woman in her bed. She smiles and sighs, filled with the contentment of having her back. She looks around the room and a devilish smile crosses her lips as she sees their clothes strewn about the room. She lets her mind drift back to last night and their passionate lovemaking. She begins to gather up the clothes. All this movement around the room has stirred Shane. Lying in bed, she cracks open her eye to see Molly, still naked, picking up her clothes. She smiles slightly, but does not yet speak. She’s enjoying just watching Molly. She grabs Shane’s shirt, folds it, and places it on her dresser. She then goes to pick up her pants. As she does, Shane’s wallet falls out. Leaning down to pick it up, she notices a folded piece of paper sticking out of the top. Gently removing the paper from the wallet, she realizes it is a picture. She opens it to see it’s a picture of her. She’s lying in bed with just a sheet barely covering her. Shane finally speaks, somewhat startling Molly, “I took that one morning while you were sleeping.”
“I-I figured.”
“I woke up that morning and for the first time in a long time, I felt like I was home. I was completely at peace with everything. I looked over at you and you were just so beautiful, I had to catch my breath. I realized just then how much I loved you and I wanted to remember that moment,” Shane sheepishly admits.
Molly glows at this admission. “And you’ve been carrying this around in your wallet?”
“After you left SheBar that night, I had the pictures developed. I wasn’t ready to let you go. I put the picture in my wallet to remind me of you and to remind me of the person that I want to be…the person that you deserve.”
