    Some Kind of Wonderful

“Friends, thank you all for your presence here today. On this very special occasion we have been invited to share with Bette Porter, Tina Kennard and Angelica Kennard-Porter a very important moment in their lives. After years of separation and dual households they have now joined as one.

Our attendance at this commitment ceremony is not only to bear witness to the covenant between Bette and Tina but also the bond with their daughter Angelica and the promise between them and us; their closest family and friends. We are here to bless, sanction, and support the Kennard-Porter family unit as their separate paths have converged into one everlasting love where each is forever entrusted with the others heart.

Angelica Kennard-Porter do you support your parents Christina Kennard and Elizabeth Porter in this public affirmation of their union as a couple and with you their child, as a family?”

“I do.” Angie answers, then joins her parent’s hands together. They both kiss her on the cheek then she leaves them and takes a seat next to Joey in the front row.

Once Angie is seated, Kit continues addressing the audience. “Bette and Tina have selected a poem called ETERNAL LOVE by Margaret Marr to signify their bond. They will share it with us as they embark on this new life they have created together.”

Bette and Tina face each other, hold both hands and recite the poem; Eternal Love by Margaret Marr

    Tina:
In the tranquil hours of night
    I walk in your soul
    You live in my heart
    With each beat
    With each breath
    We are one

    Bette:
    Dawn merges with morn
    I melt into you
    You capture my spirit
    Our hearts swell with passion
    Our bodies weep with ecstasy
    We are eternal love

    Tina: My Warrior

    Bette: My Beloved

Tina & Bette: My Everything. I’ll Love You Endlessly.

“Bette, Tina and Angie will exchange rings to symbolize the sacredness of their union as a family bound forever with eternal love. Angie will you please join your parents, and Joey if you will please bring the rings forward.”

Angie and Joey do as Kit requested. Joey carries a white satin pillow on which lay three sets of rings. When they decided to wear rings again Bette and Tina melted down the old rings and a few other pieces of jewelry. They used the gold to create six new bands that they designed themselves. They had made a set for each of them and one for Angie; they would each wear two interlocking rings.
