    The Gathering 01.26 – Lazy Afternoon In Court

                “Holy *****!”  Alice stated seeing Lara F’ing Perkins walking towards them.

                “Lara is our new chef.”  Marina said with a self satisfaction she’d never felt before.

                “Ivan you have to come home the wedding is in a week and you need to be here.”  Kit said with an anguish that broke Ivan’s heart.  Ivan held the phone as softly as she would have held Kit right now if she could.  Things with her parents had come to head, her father’s Alzheimer had become worse and she had to put them both in nursing homes.  It was a daunting task, but she had to be the one to do it.

                “Kit, I know all of that, but I will be home day after tomorrow, I promise.  How are you holding up honey?”  Kit took a ragged breath and said;

                “I’m ok.”  She lied, looking at the bottle of empty wine sitting on the counter.  Meeting’s and talking to other people wasn’t cutting it, she’d fallen off the wagon, and she was bruised and battered from the rough tumble.

                “I will be home baby; you keep it together for me while I’m gone.  I love you.”  Kit said her good byes and hung up the phone, despair filled every fiber of her being.

                “Did we really need to come?”  Sam asked Shane who was dragging her through the courthouse to where Dana‘s preliminary hearing was being held concerning her breach of contract with Tonya.  Civil suits and money talks peppered the hallway.

                “She’s my friend and she needs all the support she can get right now.  This crazy Tonya chick really worked one over on Dana; she had her totally fooled.  Thank god Alice realized she was in love with her before it was too late and they got married.”  Sam bit her tongue watching a ***** dark skinned woman walking passed them.  Sam turned and walked backwards licking her lips.

                “Hey, over here.”  Shane said, her voice deeper than usual Sam had noticed that if her emotions were running high, it got deeper in and more pronounced.

                “Huh?”  Sam said still walking backwards to see the fleeting sight of a well shaped ***** wiggling its erotic good bye.

    1. oh yeah what if??? That’s THE question right? Anyway, Shane just saved Dana’s day! But it left her with some questions for her own to figure out, just like Sam. A little comment on the poem at the end of this chapter: I soooo loved it, very emotional and so deep. It gives me something to think about too. Thank you J, you’re as awesome as always!

    2. ‘What ifs?’, can be depressing depending on your current situation. (No need to explain that) Since I haven’t figured out if Sam was just talking out loud or full of regret, I’m guessing the former. Shane shouldn’t feel like C.J. will be a cloud in their relationship. Sam relationship w/ C.j. helped her be the great chick she is today. Tonya was hilarious – true to form, glad she got busted though.
