“Sure, I’m going to go talk to Shane.”  Bette said, walking away.  Tina was stunned, she hadn’t gotten all huffy about her talking to Sam, will wonders ever cease?

            “Sami, how is Gardner?”  Sam turned away from the woman she was talking too and said a quick good bye.

            “Oh, he’s ok.  A bit ticked that he showed weakness in the boardroom but other wise fine.  I see you are on a date, how is it going?”  Sam asked, putting an easy arm around her waist.  Tina shrugged, whispering into Sam‘s ear.

            “I’m not sure I want to go down this road again.  Then I feel like I owe it to myself for the seven years we did have.”  Sam nodded; and she knew where she was coming from.

            “If I had a second change at C.J. I’d take it.  Did you see Alice with Jayden?”  Tina nodded and smiled; thinking they were cute together.

            “Yeah, Alice said they haven’t, you know, hooked up yet.  But she did sleep with Bette, Bette admitted it the other night, so score another conversion for Bette Porter.”  Tina quipped and Sam laughed hard.

            “Yet being the word of the day.  They will.”  Sam grinned impishly and kissed Tina on the cheek and walked away; Tina wondered if Sam would ever find herself another true love.

            Alice was looking at Dana, trying to keep her jaw from popping open with lust.  Dana was wearing a long, dark blue silk dress that showed off every inch of her perfect body.  Dana was chatting with a friend of Bette‘s about tennis and Alice couldn’t seem to take her eyes off of her for one moment.  Then Jayden sat down wit her and Alice‘s attention wavered and they began to have an easy conversation.

            Marina and Jenny sat down next to her and Alice grinned.

            “Alice are you all right?”  Marina asked, her accent devilishly *****.

            “Umm, yeah.  I was just thinking.” 

            “About what?”  Jenny asked, her eyes imploring, the writer in her always curious as to what was playing in other people’s minds.
