    The Gathering 01.68 – The Gathering ReDux – Pt. 16

                The door opened and Allister Barstow stood there, the owner of the magazine.  He looked dashing in his pinstripe suit; a dark maroon tie made the ensemble perfect in every way.

                “Please come in, we are ready for you now.”  Alice took a deep breath and stepped into the den of lions

                Alice sat at the Planet, stunned beyond words when Jayden came into the caf, she spotted Alice and went over.

                “You look like you swallowed the canary.”  Jayden said, kissing Alice‘s cheek and Alice just shrugged.

                “I am just, flabbergasted.”  Jayden’s well sculpted eyebrows shot up.

                “Why?”

                “I was just promoted to editor of my magazine.”

                Kit Porter sat on the bed she’d been given by the nice rehabilitation people.  She was in a dreary state of mind; she’d been doing so well, and now this.  Her fall from grace that hadn’t stunned anyone, except of course, for herself.

                Bette had known she’d fall of the wagon, so had everyone else.  No amount of well wishing could change her mind about that.  The tall dark counselor walked in, asking to take a seat and Kit shrugged her shoulders with indifference.

                “We have to talk about something.”  He said, his name was Ethan and he was in his mid 40′s, tall and slim with athletic shoulders.  Kit just shrugged again, not giving him anything to work with.

                “You told me you were getting married.  The groom’s name was Ivan, am I correct?”  She nodded, a half smirk gracing her full lips.

                “Then why is Ivan sitting in the waiting room, and Ivan is most definitely not groom material.”  Kit closed her eyes;

                “Ivan is a woman.”

                “I got that much Kit.  You also told me you were straight.  I’m not judging, but I’m confused.  Part of this program is that you be honest, with us, but foremost with yourself.  So I say again, I’m confused.”

                “You ain’t the only one sugah.”

                “Why won’t you move back home?”  Bette asked Tina over lunch at Savitono’s, a trendy hip new bistro.  Tina sighed, still liking her freedom; she knew she was ready to move back in.  She also wanted to, at least part of her did.  She was just really enjoying her time alone.
