I think about the date and realise that her period is due in a couple of days and she does need extra rest for those few days. I nod
“Okay – thanks Lucy – come and get me at about 10:15 and get my car for 10:20. I don’t want to stay too long — especially if Tina isn’t here “

I finally get back to the Residence at 10:45. I would have enjoyed myself more if Tina had been around the whole evening but for the most part it has been a fun time.
She is not in the sitting room of the Residence – I guess she has gone to bed. I push the door open and stand in wonderment at the sight before me.
Our bedroom is lit by hundreds of candles — huge cathedral candles and tiny tee-light candles — all flickering and making the room magical, In front of me is a sight that I will never forget in this life or any other.
Tina is wearing a long flesh coloured dress that I swear she has . been poured into. The dress goes right down to her feet and shows off every one of her glorious curves – her hair is different . I realise instantly what this is – she takes a couple of steps closer to me

Every word is sung slowly and sultry. As slowly and seductively as in 1962 when Marilyn Monroe stood in an almost identical dress – decorated with 2500 rhinestones and sang for John F Kennedy.
And over 40 years later this is Tina’s tribute to history and the President’s birthday. She knows her American history as well as I do. There is only one thing that I can say – I trawl the reply that Kennedy gave from my mind — as seen in grainy black and white
“I can retire from politics after having had Happy Birthday sung to me in such a sweet, wholesome way “
She moves a few steps closer to me and sings in the same Monroe voice
“I wanna be loved by you just you and no body else but you “
She is doing the pout and the closer she gets to me the more she is driving me wild .I swallow – oh fucking hell — if I get any wetter I am going to drown.

“How the hell did you get into that dress ? “

Oh damn it all to Hell! I need a ciggy and they haven’t even done anything yet! I wonder if I can somehow persuade Pres. Porter into letting me borrow her fiancee for my next birthday? Nahh I can’t come between them (unless they want a 3-way with me). ;)

Always loving your story!! AS soon as I saw your summary for the fic I knew what was going to happen. I just thought like Marilyn, Tina was going to do it at the party!! lol. Also everyone is worried about Tina’s past coming out of the woodwork once elections start up, but what about Bette’s although we have already dealt with one of her ex’s doesn’t mean that the other will be happy to see her happy and married. THe one married? I mean she could just as easly try to bust Bette out with we had an affiar and make Bette look bad!! Just my crazy thoughts carry on!!

Love this story, I just think Bette is still a bit obsessed with Tina even when she is working..Our wonderful President Porter needs to think about the rest of us ONCE in a while!! I loved Alice’s speech, and Marilyn Monroe’s/Tina’s rendition of Happy Birthday is wholesome, huh? So thats what we’re calling it now??? :) :) Help a yank out here..what is fried bread? do you mean French toast? BUT I now know what toast soldiers are! You see the educational value of your story, ally, historical and culinary!!
Great touch with the English speech writers. Those two are totally rocking. Just think if they could write for the President then hell they could write for my favorite show and do a much better job with Bette and Tina. Besides we all know that Tina does love Bette.

Ally, I just loved this chapter and once again your humor–great. I just hope that the POTUS reads very carefully the speeches her new speechwriters give her, because you never know what they will come up with. The happy birthday Marilyn imitation was perfect and yes can’t wait to see how Bette gets her out of that dress also.
I am so happy that you didn’t end this story. It is one of my favorites. Thank GOD for our English writers. S3 was unbearable, which is why I depend so much on fan fic. Tina singing to Bette in a Marilyn Monroe fashion…very nice. I can’t wait to read about the other “presents” Tina has in store for the birthday girl. Post again soon.

Hmmm. English writers in the White House. Kind of makes me nervous. I remember a story in which you guys torched the place. Can we trust you now? Tina should have done her Monroe (not the president) impersonation at the dinner. Not only would she have earned tons of great press, but she’d also have Bette supremely hot and bothered by the time they got to the limo.
Can’t say we didn’t try to warn you about S3. Our condonlences.

I think Tina singing ahhpy b-day in that dress is probably the best b-day gift she could have hoped for. I’m glad to see that Bette and Shane are back to their old relationship. They can talk about Tina openly and Shane’s seems to have gotten over her cush on the POTUS (or at least she is hiding i better). Too bad Bette and Tina couldn’t have all the senior staff sitting at the their table during the b-day bash-I’m sure they would’ve had more fun but at least they got kick out of Alice’s toast. You need to post soon and finish up what happened it the presidential boudoire(sp??) that night. What a lucky lucky president!

If you hated the 1st episode, the rest will have you ready to rake your nails across a chalk board- i refuse to buy this season. With the way you left this, I’m hoping for a NC17 next… go Tina go!
