Shane went across and took hold of Tina
“Tina – stop being a freaking drama queen. Your only thought has got to be that woman lying there. Go and hold her because she needs you right now. If you love her — really love her like you tell everyone that you do – you will help her through this “
Shane briefly thought that Tina might slap her but she took a deep breath and nodded.
“You are right – Bette is all I care about “
Tina went to Bette and got on the sofa beside her and took hold of her hand.
“When it hurts – squeeze my hand really tight. I want you to rely on me. Don’t hold anything back – swear all you want. I promise that we will get through this. We are going to have our baby “
Bette looked at Tina with love.
“I need you so much T – please promise that you will stay with me all the time “
“oh God this hurts Tina -can you maybe email someone Helena?”
“Now that IS possible — you lot keep trying with the phones “
Helena hurried off into a different room and Lara. Tina, Shane and Alice all resumed with trying to get through to the emergency services with their mobile phones.
Tina was holding Bette’s hand as she tried to get a signal – she was getting more and more frustrated with not being able to get any help. She was very aware that she had been the one who had decided that a baby shower at Helena’s beach house had been a really good idea. If anything happened to Bette or the baby she would hate herself forever more.
“How are you honey ? “ Tina asked as she stroked Bette’s hair that was starting to get damp with sweat.
“I really need to push “
“No Bette – just keep panting for now – remember your breathing exercises “
“This is hopeless – I am not getting any sort of signal – there must be something that we can do “

How exciting! And The Brit comes to the rescue! Helena is actually nice in your story. It’s amusing how squeamish the girls are and how they didn’t want to touch Bette’s yoni under these circumstances. Pretty funny and ironic!!

They did a great job, but lets not forget to tie off the umbilical cord. Oh yeah Jobadge, the deliverary of the placenta should gross Alice, Laura, and mabe Shane out. LOL
I thought Lara was going to fall over as soon as she walked into the room. LOL My mom almost broke my dad’s hand while in labor with me. xD I had to come out via c-section. Thank god Bette didn’t need that.
Okay Ally, I guess I owe you this one. I said that you would never put a baby in any of your stories and you said if you did that I would have to apologize to you on the site. So here it is my friend—-I am on my knees begging for your forgiveness oh great author that you are and I am sorry that I ever doubted you. It will never happen again. Only one other thing to say—at least my challenge got you to write it. See I can be devious when the need arises. LMAO!!! Et voila! He’s here! Time for Helena to retrieve a couple of bottles of very good champagne from the cellar. For a second I thought you were going to send Tina off to the “boil water” detail. Isn’t that what happens to all hysterical spouses in this situation? Bette was very brave. Congratulations to all.

Ally, I read this first about 3:30 this morning and it was thrilling to read. Now I want to add that with Alice’s last statement…”Porter can never do anything like the rest of the population-it seems her son is the same.” That statement alone gives you a whole other story to write with that statement as your theme. Of course you must finsih this story first. But now you have another one possibly based in England and America. Am I right ladies?
