“Get ready for me to hit a home run” Shane says bumping to Alex as she walked out to fielded.

“Keep dreaming Shaney baby, they got the best catcher fielding today” She says punching her mitt fiercely.

“Really who?” Shane mocks, lightly swinging her bat.

“Ha, ha you’ll see when I catch you out” Alex says laughing before running out to her position.

Shane stepped up to the plate and waiting eagerly for the first ball to be thrown.

She saw the Governor talking to the girl on second base but thought nothing of it and focused on the bowler.

Like Shane promised Alex she hit it hard and long and started on her home run, she made it past first however when she reached second the girl stuck her elbow out catching Shane in the face and knocking her to the ground.

“Shit” Alex shouts running over to her best friend. She reaches her and falls to her knees. “Shane are you alright, can you hear me?” Alex asked unsure of what to do.

“Yeah I can hear you” Shane says struggling to sit up.

“You did that on purpose” Alex yells at the girl who was on the second base.

“Prove it” The girl smirks, laughing with the others girls who had gathered round to see how much damaged had been done.

“I don’t need to, I saw you do it” And before the girl knew what was happening Alex had ran over to her, rugby tackling her to the ground. Alex starts to really pound into the girl when the Governor grabs her by the scruff of the neck.

“Get off her” He says firmly throwing Alex to the ground. “Always causing trouble, you and the dyke” He snarls.

“She nearly knocked Shane out” Alex shouts back, pointing to the girl.

“Trouble causers the pair of you” He continues as if he hadn’t heard a word Alex said.

“Kennard go wait outside Ms Richards office, I’ll deal with you later” Alex looks at Shane who nods weakly, she slowly walks of the playing field.

“McCutcheon, get to the nurses office” Shane gets up and starts to hobble away. “Wait, I think you need some help” Shane looks round fearfully.
