“I’m here, aren’t I?”
Bette wanted to hug her, but they weren’t much for hugging. They opted more often for a slap on the back or a teasing shove. “Yeah, you’re here.”
“So what happened? Did she flip out at your or something?”
“No.”
“Throw something?”
“No.”
“Threatened you then?”
“She was sad, Shane … like she was disappointed.”
Shane didn’t speak immediately after, because she didn’t want to hurt her friend’s feelings. She’d thought something horrible had happened, but when she looked a little closer, she could see that it was a big deal to Bette. So it was a big deal to her, too. “So … that’s what she did when you told her? She just looked sad? Didn’t you try talking to her or something?”
“No, I did. Actually, I tried to take her mind off it and I played her favorite song for her, and I had everything prepared …”
“But it didn’t work?”
“Well, actually … it kind of did work. But that’s not what I mean. I said … I’m upset because I said … I love her.”
Shane did her best not to act as surprised as she felt. No wonder her friend was so devastated. “Did … something happen to make you think she doesn’t love you back?” If she crushed Bette …
“No, I think … well, I know she does, because she said it. But that’s not why I’m upset. Just … hear me out for a minute.”
Shane nodded and relaxed in her seat, arms crossed because of her chill.
“I told her I … used to be a player. And she kind of exploded – but that’s not like her at all. She looked so distortedly upset, and … I just can’t place why. It’s like I’ve wronged her already, and I’ve done nothing wrong. There was this moment where … I thought she hated me.”
“Maybe someone like that did wrong her in the past.”
Bette thought for a moment, “Well there was only really Angelica’s father.”
“So? Couldn’t he have done something crazy?”
“But Angelica’s so … perfect.”
Shane smiled and lovingly punched Bette in the arm, chuckling into her hand. “Fuckin’ look at you. This is the most hilarious thing.”

this story has me hooked bad!.I love Bette to go ahead,despite being afraid,that she says i am this,take me or leave me. She really is playing for the love! and about Angie i don’t think she has a problem with Bette and Tina relationship,maybe she is being bullied at the school or maybe she doesn’t understand her mother being a lesbian (kids are complicated)and i also have the same question like seduction,Tina referring to herself as being a lesbian virgin is an accurate reason for Bette’s lust? it worth for me ha! it’s HOT. PPVS!!!

The Birthday Wish Hello GrindRight, I ‘m enjoying this story. Although I must admit it’sbringing back memories from my past. I too was once a player. I knew justwhat to say and do. “Dam the kitty cats tight.” Sorry I got lost for a moment.Back to the subject, my greatest concern is for Angelica. Bette mentioned to Shane that she does not love Angelica while confessing her love for Tina. Is it possible for Bette to give Tina real love while she herself is learning what love means? On the other hand, was Tina’s inference referring to herself as being a lesbian virgin an accurate reason for Bette’s lust? Do your thing keep grinding right!

Thanks for the update. I think Tina had a right to be upset. Bette is the first woman she has been with so this is all new to her. For all she knows Bette tells all the women that she’s with that they are special and she’s a “changed woman” because of it. I think Tina is right to be skeptical. People don’t usually change. Bette will need to prove it over time. I’m glad Bette told her before she found out another way. It’s a good start for her new way of relating to a woman. I hope she sticks with it and I hope Tina gives her a chance. Looking forward to the next update.
