The Trouble With Love Chapter Fifteen

The ride to the airport was mercifully quick and without any incidents. Tina was glad that at least one thing had gone the way that she wanted it. As she walked into the terminal building she glanced at the arrivals board to find out how Bette’s flight was progressing. She was relieved to see that it was due to land on time. A quick look at her watch indicated that she probably had about thirty minutes for the plane to land and for Bette to clear passport control and baggage claim. She took a seat just by the arrivals gate so that she could watch other people become reunited with their friends and family as they arrived back from where ever they had been. She smiled at this but it also made her anxious at to what her and Bette’s reaction would be to each other, so anxious in fact that she found herself out of her seat and pacing up and down wishing the time would pass just that bit quicker. Then her phone started to ring.

    “Hello.” she said, distractedly.

    “Has she landed yet?”

“Shane. No, I’m by the arrivals gate right now. She should be here in about twenty minutes, depending how quick baggage claim is.”

    “Are you OK?”

“If not sleeping last night, generally being in a state of panic and pacing the floor like a crazy woman is OK then, yeah, I’m doing just fine.” laughed Tina.

“If it’s any consolation Bette wasn’t much better when I drove her to the airport. I expect she’s been walking up and down the aisles of the plane, driving everyone else insane. I actually think she’s still in a state of disbelief that this is actually happening. She nearly broke down the door of my house she couldn’t get in fast enough to tell me.”

“Shane, why are you up in the middle of the night?”

“You know I want things to work out for you guys and I just wanted to let you know that I was thinking about you and I hope that you both get what you want.”

    “I don’t know what I want yet.”

“Maybe not, but you’re a lot closer to finding out than you’ve ever been, don’t you think?”

    1. What? No big hug at the airport, where they melt into each others arms and finally security had to kick them out because they were standing there for like 16 hours still hugging? Loving the story, can’t wait till Tina gets back from work.

    2. At last they are face to face, in the same place. Please let them continue talking and hopefully some healing will occur. Please update soon. Thanks for the chapter.

    3. Tina does have a key to Bette’s room, right? Yea, it seems unbelievable that they didn’t have and embrace or hand squeeze at the airport, even friends do that.
