    I spot Bette and Claire with their heads together. They stand far off to the rear of the seating area now filling with row after row of what’s becoming an anxious and expectant looking crowd. Off Stage Right, and in front of a Les Girls titled calligraphy banner Jenny must have made herself, Claire tells me Jenny’s managers will rope off a small space where she’ll take the media’s questions afterwards.

    One of Josh’s jobs, unbeknownst to Jenny and her agents,  will be to make sure she does have a crowd of his friends and reporters and cameramen around her. There Claire has laid a trap for Jenny. It’s as old as time and hooks a narcissist every time it’s laid. As the craved for attention inflates Jenny’s ego with intoxicating mind altering vapors, Josh, our Inside Man and Ringer, will lure her farther and farther off her script.

    ”But how do we know she’ll meltdown and not answer his questions? How do we know that the other reporters won’t just close their notepads and turn off their recording gear and leave?” Bette had asked me last night when we’d finally turned out the lights. I had been lying on her shoulder and she’d been staring up at the ceiling.

    ”Because Bette, Josh is also the college sports bookie for all the weekend gambling that comes out of the Hollywood Press Corps.”

    ”Well, good for him. He sounds industrious. But what does baseball have to do with anything?”

    ”Two of the producers for the cable ezines and webcasts, and three of the cameramen all are into him big time. Claire says it’s for a lot of money, too. Josh has leverage with them, Bette. He tells them to stay he assures me they will stay, and record, and air every last meltdown moment of Jenny’s self-serving delivery.”

    I had felt Bette shake her head and sigh. ”What’s he going to hit her with I haven’t already thought of and yelled to her fucking face?”

    ”On camera he’s going to ask her about her nervous breakdown, suicide attempt and recent stint in the mental hospital.”

    ”What?!” Bette had shouted as the light by her bedside had suddenly switched back on. I had inched back up on the pillows and rested against the headboard.

    1. Brilliant ! I loved We-Ho but this Season 7 promises to be Fantastic! This chapter is so great – I hear Bette as I read of so clearly and Joyce what a hoot!

      My favourite couple plus a great version of Joyce plus a nod to Hitchcock and Brandy – what more could I want – Answer – another Chapter please soon!

    3. Gosh, loved that chapter. Too bad IC couldn’t come up with something similar to give us, it would have been awesome. Of course, she couldn’t really do that because Jenny was patterned after her own life, so she siad in interviews. Blackbird, you’re awesome. Thanks for posting.

      Just finally caught up with your latest installment. And as promised I would leave a comment. You have always amazed me with your writing and i also like the pics.

      How I wish that there was really a season 7 where Jenny didn’t die bcoz when she died in S6, the show also ended with a lot of questions most esp. if someone killed her or she must have just fall by her own doing.

      Anyway, thanks for exploring this for us. I am excited for their announcement and of course I’m also looking forward for Bette’s reunion with her mom.

Ok first off I have to apologise for missing this story I don’t know why but I by passed it for some reason anyway iv spend the weekend reading it from the beginning and I didn’t want to leave a message until I was all caught up ok so here goes absolutely loved it and as it goes on it just gets better and im loving all the twists and turns and im so pleased you got to put jenny in here place lol great so im looking forward to the next chapter so pps.

    11. Thoroughly enjoying this chapter. Trying to sort out where stories begin and end. When I look up your name on “Search Fanfic” the story titles are not listed which makes for confusion. There must be an easier, more logical way. Other authors have each chapter listed so one can select the story or chapter that one wishes.
