    Seventeen Reasons Why…

    Laying her head back against the head rest, she closed her eyes, once again wondering what Tina was trying to say to her by asking about the sign. Feeling the vibration of her Blackberry, she pulled it out, her brow furrowing even further when she saw that it was from Tina.

     

    Bette…
    You are making one grand gesture. And, it is grand, I grant you that. If Jodi is who you want to spend your life with, I will wish for your happiness. But, what if there is a chance that there is someone else who can fill your heart, and fulfill all your dreams?

    My gesture may not be grand, but I believe it is the little day to day gestures made throughout a relationship that show its true strength.

    Bette read the message a second time. ‘What is Tina talking about?’ she wondered. ‘And, what day to day gestures? Is she talking about our new friendship, and her help in my attempt to get Jodi back?’

    Before she could go further in her thoughts, her Blackberry vibrated again.

     


    Seventeen Reasons Why

    17. Because, whereas his life ended, my life began again on the seventeenth day…the day we first met.


     

    Bette let out the breath she had been holding, her confusion over Tina’s behavior fading away as she closed her eyes and remembered the day Tina was talking about…October 17, 1997. She remembered how her stomach dropped after her eyes landed on Tina when she had turned at the sound of Eric calling her name.

    A small smile played on Bette’s lips as the cab entered the freeway. Feeling the vibration again, she opened her eyes, wondering what Tina was up to.

    16. Because, I miss experiencing and rejoicing in every single one of yours.


     

    Tears prickled at the corners of Bette’s eyes. ‘Oh Tina…why now?’ Looking up she watched the other cars on the road, wondering for a brief moment about the stories waiting to be told, grand gestures to be made, all held inside the protection of the fast moving steel frames.

Actually, with all the vibrations emminating from Bette’s Blackberry, it was a different pop song that popped to mind: Michael Jackson (his voice never really did change, did it? with his 4 brothers on “Never Can Say Goodbye”Ev’ry time I think I’ve had enough and start heading for the door There’s very strange vibrations, piercing me right to the core It says turn around you fool you know you love her more and more Tell me why is it so? Don’t wanna let you go I never can say goodbye girl (never can say goodbye, girl)I’ve had a VERY long day, I’ll read the others tomorrow.

    17. Absolutely loved it. Spent most of yesterday reading “if its meant to be” instead of doing the housework! A much better way to spend the day if you ask me. You are way up there with the best!Keep posting.

They are breath taking and are exactly how Tina feels about what has happened between the two of them. Oscar is not a favorite name of mine but is sounds wonderful as one of Bette and Tina’s children of the future. Keep posting, please.

    47. This too was my favorite followed very closely by your nc-17….Your writing captures true emotions. The way you express each characters feelings are amazing. Having Tina use special days in history and in their life’s was a work of a genius. And the scene at the end was perfect. I’m so glad that you chose to participate, I hope that you will continue writing after this and that your writer’s block is GONE!
