Too Much Time on My Hands Has a Sequel and Now I Need a Better Title

“You did follow me around like a puppy dog for awhile last year.” Bette’s voice was dry. She arched an eyebrow when Helena was silent, looking behind her shoulder slightly, and laughing loudly at Helena’s angry glare.

“Fuck you.” Helena knew she should laugh it off, but she really had tried hard to be in Bette’s corner. “I tried to make it up to you—to support you as much as I possibly could, after fucking up so badly…anyway, I’m sorry.”

“oh Christ, you don’t have to say that you’re sorry yet again.” Bette turned to look Helena squarely in the eye, smiling apolitically. “I was just teasing. And for the record, your support was much appreciated while Tina recovered from her lobotomy.”

Helena snorted with laughter, but grimaced at the image which came to mind. She shook her head. “Well, as long as you know that I was on your side. I really didn’t have very much sympathy for Tina at that point.”

An awkward silence stretched between them.

“Maybe we shouldn’t mention Tina again…” Bette’s voice dripped with sarcasm.

Helena nodded and added, “Fair enough. Let’s agree not to mention her for the rest of the day.” She drummed her fingers against her knees for a few moments and smirked. Bette tried not to notice her smirk as she scanned the beach for people she might know.

“Oh, go on! It’s silly not talking about Tina! Surely we’re both thrilled that she’s with that woman now, that what’s her face…” Helena snapped her fingers trying to come up with it. She looked at her children for the umpteenth time, content that they were still on the beach, immersed in their sand sculptures.

“Emily…Em…something…probably Emily?” Bette could not remember the woman’s name. She was an organic farmer.

“Where does she grow her tofu?” Helena couldn’t remember details either.

“Somewhere not in the city.” Bette nodded, certain that this was specific enough. “Anyway, I’m happy for her, I am. I should pay more attention to this latest development, try to support her more.”

“Yeah, me to.” Helena agreed, going back to tracing the skin over Bette’s shoulder blades with her fingertips. “We should go and visit this farm of hers. See where Tina’s been spending sooooooo much of her time.”

    1. Well that was beyond hot. I love the family scenes too (Wilson and his tea party!). Helena’s kids remind me (in spirit at least) of Edina’s eccentric offspring on Ab Fab; luckily for them, Helena’s parenting skills are considerably more evolved than Edina’s. And Tina? I always suspected she’d end up with a tofu farmer. As for the parallel-universe explanation, it’s fiction so why not? Bette and Helena rule in all three dimensions!

    2. okay, i just exhaled…and a few other things…whew…that’s about all i can say…delicious, decadent…umph! you sure don’t leave anything to the imagination…can’t wait for the next installment..,

    3. You know there is a time when words can not be express for a situation and this is that time. If I had to choose between any of your stories as my favorite, I honestly could not or would not. Thanks for taking the time to share it. When I wonder can you top your last one you always seem to come through.Terrific as always!

    4. Ive been reading your stories this past week, and I love your style of writing. I can’t wait to read the next installments.PS. Fuck Tina’s brains, off with her fucking head

    5. Gee…one plant is either one too many or not nearly enough. They keep going like that, neither one should have too many insecurities about the other. But helebette, it occurs to me that you have a real vendetta about Tina’s brains. They were eaten by zombies in “Planet Terror”, you just gave her a lobotomy in “Life Happens” and now in this one she’s dating a farmer who grows tofu(?) on what may be a cult compound, which would require the complete absence of brains. Jesus, what did she ever do to you?

    6. i really, really luv your writing, and of course the pairing of helebette, but my favorites of yours, were the ones where they have the conflicts, but have no choice but to cum together anyway, i think when they are both in full alpha mode, and trying to fight the attraction but to no avail is so damn hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
