Carmen’s POV

I don’t get it. Did I do something wrong? First she doesn’t want me to be there during her first physiotherapy and then she doesn’t even want me to pick her up. I was clearly concerned, but I had to stop making myself crazy and just trust her. To think of something else I went to the Planet where Alice was sitting behind her notebook.

Carmen: “Hey Al.”

Alice: “Oh, hi Carmen. Where’s Shane?”

Carmen: “Physio.”

Now I had all her attention. She raised an eyebrow and closed her notebook.

Alice: “Okay, someone is frustrated. What’s wrong?”

Carmen: “Nothing, everything’s fine.”

Alice: “Carmen! Didn’t you keep enough secrets lately? Don’t you have a bad conscience?”

Carmen: “A bad conscience?”

Alice: “Yeah, you heard me right, lady. The friendship conscience that feels soooo bad right now.”

I looked at her and couldn’t help but smile. Alice is such a nosy person, but it always helps to talk to her.

Carmen: “Okay…it’s Shane.”

Alice pretended to be shocked.

Alice: “No way! Oh my gosh, Shane??? Our bright innocent angel?”

Carmen: “Al…will you please stop mocking me.”

Alice: “Okay, okay. What did our badass do to you this time?”

Carmen: “Nothing bad…It’s just…she didn’t want me to go her physiotherapy. I wanted to be there to support her in case she needed me.”

Alice: “Okay I see…You shouldn’t worry about that. I wouldn’t have wanted anybody to be there, too.”

Carmen: “Really?”

Alice: “Gosh, no. I would have forced Tasha to come with me so that somebody would hold my hand when I cry, cause at the beginning it’s fucking painful.”

I wasn’t pleased to hear that. Now I had to think about Shane being all alone without anybody supporting her during the painful therapy and it concerned.

Alice: “Don’t worry, Carmen…Shane is a strong girl. She can do this. And I bet that she didn’t want you to see her like that because she doesn’t want you to see her weak. She wants you to see her as your hero.”

Carmen: “She is my hero.”
