    “We got called to a burglary in progress, dispatch said the female caller was hiding inside because someone had broken in.  Want to hazard a guess as to who the caller was?”

     

    “No!  … Stephanie” Tina answered.

     

    “Ding, ding, ding.  We have a winner.”

     

    “And I just bet she tried to run into your arms when you got there.”

     

    “Tried, being the operative word.  I held her back away from me and called mommy and daddy to come console her.  Then we found evidence that she set the whole thing up.  There was no burglar, just her wanting some attention.”

     

    “Wanting your attention” Tina remarked.

     

    “Don’t worry T.  She didn’t get any of my attention.  We left Johnson to talk to her while Sgt. Barton and I went outside the check on things.”

     

    “I really can’t believe her.  What next?”

     

    “Sweetie, calm down.  One more night apart, then we have a week together, with no crazy woman.”

     

    “I know.  But Stephanie has just pulled her last stunt with you.  Next time I see her, I’m going to address the issue.”

     

    “Babe, I didn’t mean to upset you by telling you this.  But I don’t want any secrets.”

     

    “Baby, I’m glad you told me.  I’d be pissed if you didn’t.  But Miss Stephanie’s reign of terror is about to end.”

     

    “Yes dear.”

     

    Oh shit.  I’ve got to do something about this before it gets out of hand.  Bette ended their conversation, trying to figure a way to prevent a confrontation between the two of them.

     

     

     

     

    Bette had her bag packed and ready to go.  She planned to finish her shift Saturday night, change and shower and ‘get the hell out of Dodge’.  She didn’t want any more drama.  She just wanted to snuggle up with Tina and pretend the rest of the world didn’t exist.  That was the plan anyway.

     

    It had been a busy shift, call to call, mostly fights.  Bette only had one report and she was typing fast and furious, trying to stay caught up.  About midnight, Tina called.

     

    “Hey baby.  How’s it going?”

     

    “My bag is packed and I’m ready to go.  Just a couple more hours.  With any luck, I’ll be there for breakfast.”

    7. Hey idw! Great chapter, thanks! Nice to see how they adjust so easily to each other city and routine, because of their fulfilment to simply being together. I’ve known of cases where love is sometimes not enough… Those two are really meant for each other! Interesting that Bette is so much in control, but let anyone put one single finger on her T, and the lover will definitely turn into an uncontrolable fighter!!!

    11. Love the storoy, just lhappiness and lots of love between them, a little bit of drama but nothing overwhelming. Just great, showiwng normal lives, happy and in love. Love this story. thanks very much for it. post again soon.
