They sometimes worked late into the evening and Bette would stay for dinner. Tina joined them on occasion and Bette took special pleasure in the evenings where all three helped to prepare the meal as they had the first night they’d met.

    “Val. Now that we’ve selected all the pieces for the exhibit I will ask Lisa Bolen to arrange some time with you. Lisa is a professional photographer and graphic designer. She’s also James’ wife. She will design all the promotional material for the exhibit and produce the invitations for the private showing and artist dinner. She’ll take individual photographs of the paintings so you’ll need to work with her to label them by name and write a brief description for the text panels. She will also take some portrait and candid still shots and videos of you for the catalog, posters and website.”

    “When you say candid stills and videos what do you mean. What will they be used for?”

    “The Porter Art Gallery has a website. We dedicate an entire section to ’Emerging Artists’. Lisa will create a link for you as the next featured artist. The candid stills and video of you in the studio painting and talking about your work will be added in streaming video and slide shows so people can get to know you.”

    “Will the video be scripted or can I just be natural? I’m not really good at reading from a script.”

    “I wouldn’t want you to. Just be your natural beautiful self. Talk about whatever you think is important for people to know about you and your work. My friend Alice Pieszecki is a journalist for LA Magazine. I’ve asked her to do personal interview to create a biographical piece that will be included in the catalog and on the website. That write up will be accompanied by a portrait. You have last approval rights so nothing will be published without your permission.”

    “I’ve heard of Alice Pieszecki. Doesn’t she write those off the wall top ten lists of every inconsequential thing imaginable?” Tina asked.

    “Yes, that is her claim to fame but every now and then she actually writes something inspiring. She’s really quite talented.”

Loved this Chapter!..Feel sorry for Bette though..So Val’s crush is Bette but Tina seems to be into Bette as well but they are wanting different things at this point..*sigh*..I see Helena pursuing Tina relentlessly and of course can’t wait for a little Danish time..*sigh*..I’ll take whatever I can get ; )

    2. Great chapter. I think Bette will resent Helena and her ambitions, both professional and personal. Tina will get romantically involved with Helena but realize that she is really attracted to Bette but too scared to establish a committed relationship w/Bette.

    3. I liked this chapter. I was glad that Bette and Tina began to open up to Val.
      So Tina is not monogamous? Hmm, this is interesting :D
      so I don’t want to be Tina and Helena together.. They were so awful together. Both took advantage of the other ….
      I look forward to the next chapter.

Another great chapter I believe Helena is going to do all she can to pursue Tina only because Peggy wanting Bette to pursue her and I have to admit to not liking how Peggy treats Bette like her daughter in front of Helena you can see Helena hating Bette before she even meets her and this has all come about from how Peggy talks about her pps.

    8. I liked the conversation between them each positioning itself as
      the question of how each wants a relationship, and Bette
      make it clear that will not mix work with emotional involvement.
      The fact tina not be monogamous and not found love
      real what is in front of her (Bette) will certainly want to be
      monogamous (This was my side TiBette made ​​me write this)

    9. AHH MY HOPES AND DREAMS JUST GOT CRUSHED WITH THIS CHAPTER BUT IT’S STILL SO INTRIGUING AND I LOVE IT, CAN’T WAIT TO SEE WHAT ELSE WILL HAPPEN…AND WHY DIDN’T IT SURPRISE ME THAT hELENA WANTED TINA ESPECIALLY SINCE SHE NOW KNOW BETTE KNOWS HER AND WE ALL KNOW HELENA WANTS WHATEVER BETTE HAS
