She’ll try to insinuate herself into your love life so don’t be afraid to tell her to butt out if she gets too personal. I’ve asked her to set up and appointment with you. You can do it over the phone but I would suggest a face to face. We are also inviting several journalists from major art magazines to attend the dinner so you’ll get a fair amount of media coverage.”

    “Does the Planet do your catering for the artist dinners?”

    “No. These dinners are a bit more upscale than what the Planet can provide. The chef at the Planet is very good but we use a private chef named Lara Perkins. She specializes in event dinners and personally hand-picks the meats and produce. She even cooks on premise whenever possible for the freshest delivery. I’ve known her for about 4 years. She and her staff do a tremendous job. They know my specifications and they always follow through with exceptional service. I will personally select the menu and wines.”

    “Can I help?”

    “Sure Tina. I would love that. I’m meeting with Lara the week before the show. She’ll have us come to her kitchen to sample several options for each course.”

    “I look forward to it.”

    “Me too.”

    “So what happens after Lisa and Alice get all my photos, videos and interviews done?”

    “That’s when the real work starts. As the curator James will play the most integral role. He is responsible for exhibition design and fabrication. We use an outside firm called Jewels & Watkins Architectural Design Group. Yolanda Watkins is a top designer. She develops the exhibition. Candace Jewels is a master carpenter. She will oversee the framing and build out the displays for the showcase. James will work closely with them to insure the best lighting and placement.”

    “That all sound great Bette. I’m excited but I’m a little scared of all the attention.”

    “You’ll be fine Val. I’m going to be with you every step of the way.”

    Bette consulted the list on her event planner. It was the best way to stay organized on point and to make sure no detail was left out. She was taking notes and ticking things off the list as they covered each action item.

Loved this Chapter!..Feel sorry for Bette though..So Val’s crush is Bette but Tina seems to be into Bette as well but they are wanting different things at this point..*sigh*..I see Helena pursuing Tina relentlessly and of course can’t wait for a little Danish time..*sigh*..I’ll take whatever I can get ; )

    2. Great chapter. I think Bette will resent Helena and her ambitions, both professional and personal. Tina will get romantically involved with Helena but realize that she is really attracted to Bette but too scared to establish a committed relationship w/Bette.

    3. I liked this chapter. I was glad that Bette and Tina began to open up to Val.
      So Tina is not monogamous? Hmm, this is interesting :D
      so I don’t want to be Tina and Helena together.. They were so awful together. Both took advantage of the other ….
      I look forward to the next chapter.

    5. Enjoyed this chapter nicely building the characters and the storyline. Picking up enough vibes to hope for my usual TiBette happy outcome – sorry I know I get boring!

Another great chapter I believe Helena is going to do all she can to pursue Tina only because Peggy wanting Bette to pursue her and I have to admit to not liking how Peggy treats Bette like her daughter in front of Helena you can see Helena hating Bette before she even meets her and this has all come about from how Peggy talks about her pps.

    8. I liked the conversation between them each positioning itself as
      the question of how each wants a relationship, and Bette
      make it clear that will not mix work with emotional involvement.
      The fact tina not be monogamous and not found love
      real what is in front of her (Bette) will certainly want to be
      monogamous (This was my side TiBette made ​​me write this)
      And please, let’s not repeat Tina with Helena just to stinger
      Bette.

    9. AHH MY HOPES AND DREAMS JUST GOT CRUSHED WITH THIS CHAPTER BUT IT’S STILL SO INTRIGUING AND I LOVE IT, CAN’T WAIT TO SEE WHAT ELSE WILL HAPPEN…AND WHY DIDN’T IT SURPRISE ME THAT hELENA WANTED TINA ESPECIALLY SINCE SHE NOW KNOW BETTE KNOWS HER AND WE ALL KNOW HELENA WANTS WHATEVER BETTE HAS
