    *** Now that the art talk was over they cleared the table and served dinner. “What’s going on with the Shaolin-Peabody deal?” Bette asked. “Actually I received a call from Helena today. Seems she’ll be in L.A. by this weekend.” “This weekend? I thought she wasn’t scheduled to be here for a couple of weeks.”

    Now that the art talk was over they cleared the table and served dinner.

    “What’s going on with the Shaolin-Peabody deal?” Bette asked.

    “Actually I received a call from Helena today. Seems she’ll be in L.A. by this weekend.”

    “This weekend? I thought she wasn’t scheduled to be here for a couple of weeks.”

    “She wasn’t but something must have happened to change her mind. Apparently she wants to spend some leisure time getting to know Los Angeles. She’s asked me to be her personal guide and to help her find a house.”

    “I thought she had a realtor. Why is she involving you all of a sudden?”

    “I guess she figures we should spend some time together before we get to work.”

    “It all sounds a little suspicious to me.”

    “What’s suspicious about it Val? She’s going to be my boss. It makes sense that we should get to know one another.”

    “It just sounds like she is interested in more than just getting to know one of her staff. Maybe all that flirting that I heard you doing on the phone with her wasn’t so innocent.”

    “Val there’s nothing going on. She is attractive I’ll admit that. And maybe we’ve flirted a bit but getting involved romantically would be unprofessional. Besides I’m dating Eric. That could get messy.”

    “Tina you’ve been dating Eric for two years. That’s never stopped you from seeing other people.”

    Bette sat quietly listening to the banter between the two friends but that caught her attention.

    “You’re not monogamous?” Bette knew she sounded judgmental but the words were out before she could pull back the emotions behind them.

    “No Bette I’m not. Do you have a problem with that?” Tina responded matching Bette’s tone. She was a bit surprised at her own defensiveness.

    “Yes … No. Look it’s none of my business how you want to live your life Tina.”

    ”No it’s not your business and besides you don’t know how I live my life.”

    “I’m sorry Tina. I spoke out of turn. I didn’t mean to offend you.”

    “No. I’m sorry Bette. I shouldn’t have snapped at you. I just don’t appreciate people making assumptions. It’s not that I’m polyamorous per se. I’m just not ready to settle into a committed relationship. I like the freedom of consensual non-monogamy with like-minded partners.”

Loved this Chapter!..Feel sorry for Bette though..So Val’s crush is Bette but Tina seems to be into Bette as well but they are wanting different things at this point..*sigh*..I see Helena pursuing Tina relentlessly and of course can’t wait for a little Danish time..*sigh*..I’ll take whatever I can get ; )

    2. Great chapter. I think Bette will resent Helena and her ambitions, both professional and personal. Tina will get romantically involved with Helena but realize that she is really attracted to Bette but too scared to establish a committed relationship w/Bette.

    3. I liked this chapter. I was glad that Bette and Tina began to open up to Val.
      So Tina is not monogamous? Hmm, this is interesting :D
      so I don’t want to be Tina and Helena together.. They were so awful together. Both took advantage of the other ….
      I look forward to the next chapter.

    5. Enjoyed this chapter nicely building the characters and the storyline. Picking up enough vibes to hope for my usual TiBette happy outcome – sorry I know I get boring!

Another great chapter I believe Helena is going to do all she can to pursue Tina only because Peggy wanting Bette to pursue her and I have to admit to not liking how Peggy treats Bette like her daughter in front of Helena you can see Helena hating Bette before she even meets her and this has all come about from how Peggy talks about her pps.

    8. I liked the conversation between them each positioning itself as
      the question of how each wants a relationship, and Bette
      make it clear that will not mix work with emotional involvement.
      The fact tina not be monogamous and not found love
      real what is in front of her (Bette) will certainly want to be
      monogamous (This was my side TiBette made ​​me write this)
      And please, let’s not repeat Tina with Helena just to stinger

    9. AHH MY HOPES AND DREAMS JUST GOT CRUSHED WITH THIS CHAPTER BUT IT’S STILL SO INTRIGUING AND I LOVE IT, CAN’T WAIT TO SEE WHAT ELSE WILL HAPPEN…AND WHY DIDN’T IT SURPRISE ME THAT hELENA WANTED TINA ESPECIALLY SINCE SHE NOW KNOW BETTE KNOWS HER AND WE ALL KNOW HELENA WANTS WHATEVER BETTE HAS
