I’m trying not to completely shut down but it’s hard to keep putting forth the effort you know. Anyway I guess that is just my long-winded way of saying that I’m being very cautious with my heart and who I let into my life these days.”

    “You can’t give up Bette. You might miss someone that is right in front of your eyes.” Valerie responded with a forlorn expression.

    “You know Peggy said something like that to me the other day.” Bette couldn’t wait to tell Peggy how wrong she was about Tina being a possible love interest. Bette had actually given it some thought and admitted to developing feelings for Tina but with the blonde’s revelation this evening any inkling of romance were squashed.

    “Well I’m just saying … keep an open mind and heart.”

    “I’ll try. So what about you. Are you seeing anyone?”

    “There’s someone I could be interested in but I’m afraid it might be one of those one-sided situations. She’s totally out of my league.”

    “Really who … you haven’t mentioned anyone.” Tina was surprised since Val always so forthright.

    “I’d rather not say right now. Besides we were talking about you and Helena. So it sounds like you’re going to be pretty busy with her. Does that mean that you are cancelling our plans?” Tina wanted to stay on the subject of Val’s crush but she respected her privacy and maybe she didn’t want to talk about it in front of Bette. They would talk later for sure.

    “Yeah. I’m sorry Val. I know we both promised make time for ourselves and do the spa getaway this weekend but until I know what Helena wants to do I need to keep my schedule open for her.”

    “Yeah I understand. What about you Bette. Feel like a spa getaway this weekend? It’s paid for.”

    “Val we can get a refund or just reschedule for another weekend.” For some reason Tina didn’t like the idea of Bette and Val going off for the weekend and was surprised at the little pang of jealousy that she felt.

Loved this Chapter!..Feel sorry for Bette though..So Val’s crush is Bette but Tina seems to be into Bette as well but they are wanting different things at this point..*sigh*..I see Helena pursuing Tina relentlessly and of course can’t wait for a little Danish time..*sigh*..I’ll take whatever I can get ; )

    2. Great chapter. I think Bette will resent Helena and her ambitions, both professional and personal. Tina will get romantically involved with Helena but realize that she is really attracted to Bette but too scared to establish a committed relationship w/Bette.

    3. I liked this chapter. I was glad that Bette and Tina began to open up to Val.
      So Tina is not monogamous? Hmm, this is interesting :D
      so I don’t want to be Tina and Helena together.. They were so awful together. Both took advantage of the other ….
      I look forward to the next chapter.

    5. Enjoyed this chapter nicely building the characters and the storyline. Picking up enough vibes to hope for my usual TiBette happy outcome – sorry I know I get boring!

Another great chapter I believe Helena is going to do all she can to pursue Tina only because Peggy wanting Bette to pursue her and I have to admit to not liking how Peggy treats Bette like her daughter in front of Helena you can see Helena hating Bette before she even meets her and this has all come about from how Peggy talks about her pps.

    8. I liked the conversation between them each positioning itself as
      the question of how each wants a relationship, and Bette
      make it clear that will not mix work with emotional involvement.
      The fact tina not be monogamous and not found love
      real what is in front of her (Bette) will certainly want to be
