What now? Chapter 10: Trust
“That is so not the same thing, Dana!” Alice yelled as Dana walked out of the room. “There’s nothing going on between Helena and me and you know it!”
“And there’s nothing going on with me and Lara! What the hell is wrong with you?!” Dana turned around and screamed back with such power that she made Alice jump. It was very out of character for Dana to get this upset, and she felt the adrenaline pump through her veins, as she got dizzy. It felt a lot like after an intense game of tennis. Her own reaction scared her, because she felt almost like she had no control what so ever on her actions at the moment. She took a deep breath and spoke: “I’m going now.” She said, moving towards the front door.
“Dana. Wait. This is important.” Alice softened her tone a bit. She really wanted the other woman to stay so they could work this out, hopefully once and for all. She was genuinely scared and sorry for the reactions she had evoked in Dana, but she also truly felt that they needed to get through this tonight. And she did not want her to go and see Lara right now. Dana turned around and looked her straight in the eyes.
“Listen, Al, I’m running late. I have to go. I think I’ll sleep at home tonight. We’ll talk about this tomorrow.” She did not raise her voice, she was not cold either, and she just seemed like her usual self. Not upset at all, as she walked out the door. Alice was left perplexed and thinking if she should run after her girlfriend or not. When she finally unfroze she knew it was too late anyway.

To be honest, Helena was not Alice’s first choice for the evening. First she had called Shane, who had plans for a quiet evening in with Carmen. She invited Alice over of course, but the blonde knew it was mostly about courtesy, so she declined. Then she called Tina, who was in a foul mood. Angelica had the colic and had screamed her and Bette into a nearly delirious state the last few nights. Alice made her excuses and hung up. Then she called Helena, and it seemed the woman was happy to get out of the house for the evening. They decided Alice would come pick her up in her mini.

wonderful fic. you did really well expressing Alice’s emotions. Are you going to put forward Dana’s side as well?
You write Helena so well, could almost hear her talking. and Alice it takes a good writer to write her saness, sillyness and trying to get out of some trouble she has gotten herself into. Yet you have done so well thanks
I… LOVE.. THIS… STORY!!! I love how you’re developing the Helena and Alice storyline. You write the characters so well. It’s painful to see Danish this way, but I can’t wait until you start writing happy-Alice again :o) Post soon please!
