What Now? Chapter: 6 – Anger Management

Hello? Dana answered after just one signal. Alice? She had been keeping awake just to take Alices call, and that made the blonde feel a little happier.

Yeah, its me. She answered simply.

You want me to come pick you up? Dana assumed.

No, no! Alice replied quickly, sensing that the tennis player were about to hang up and run down to her car this instant. Im actually already home. She confessed.

Oh. Alice waited for her girlfriend to say something else, but she didnt. The blonde knew she had been right. Dana was upset with her; she could hear the strain in the other womans voice.

I I thought youd be here. Alice said, not able to find the words. It was very rare for Dana to be angry with her, usually it was the other way around. Alice was a person who very easily got irritated with people and could be a bit snappish. But her close friends knew she meant nothing by it, so they did not really care about her little outbursts. It was different with Dana. She was not a person who got obviously angry with people. Not really. Alice had never, in all the years they had known each other; felt that Dana was angry with her for real. But she got that feeling now, and it was not a pleasant experience. Im sorry I didnt call, its just she insisted on paying for a cab and I just thought youd be here when I got back.

Dana didnt answer; she just muttered something that sounded like Uhuh but Alice was not sure.

Cant you come over now? Alice asked in an attempt to brighten her girlfriend up.

Nah. I dont think so. I need to get some sleep. But Ill talk to you tomorrow. Dana said and just – click – hung up.

Dana? Alice stared at the phone feeling completely perplexed. Did Dana just hang up on her? Dana! she shouted into the phone, very well aware there was no use. Alice could not believe it. Dana hung up on her for that! Alice felt the anger bubbling up inside her as well. This was the most childish thing Dana had ever done, she thought. How immature can you get? And her girlfriend had a tendency to do a lot of stupid, childish things the blonde thought bitterly.

    1. I just drop quick line. I’m really enjoying story and characterization of Helena. I began to like her a little bit towards the end when she wasn’t with Tina. Definite issues to be delved into.
