Angelica looks from Shane to Frankie puzzled still not getting what Frankie means. Shane takes up the narrative to explain.  “She needed healthier food and we are just awful cooks.  So eating pizza every day was out of the questions.  We just asked them if they could fill in their menus with dishes created just for Bette, healthier fair that would be good for her.” Shane finishes with Frankie nodding her support.

“Yeah we couldn’t keep getting all our food from Kit’s besides I think she was beginning to figure out that I was eating what Bette wasn’t.  So she started spicing some of the food in ways that were imaginative.”

At this Shane starts laughing, “Yeah it only happened once and it’s a miracle that Bette didn’t get any of the spiced food.  You never counted on Kit knowing Bette’s tastes so well did you?”

Angelica looks at Frankie taking a guess, “Did she spice up something and then you ate it?”

Frankie admits the truth, “Oh yeah.  I was running to the restroom for the entire day.”

Shane still laughing, “I’ve seen Kit to this day still give Frankie hard looks.  She’s very protective of Bette.”

They all laugh and make their way to Shane’s home.

Alice looks to Bette, “But Bette I don’t have Tina’s number.   I’m afraid I lost touch with her after she left.  Honestly I tried.  When she left she changed her cell and well….” Alice says spreading her hands and shrugs her shoulder letting her motion finish the sentence for her. 

Bette looks at Alice with resignation.  “Alice if you don’t have her number, do you know of any way we can get in touch with her?  I never thought for a moment you wouldn’t have it.”

Alice thinks for a moment then reaches into the front pocket of her jeans for her phone.  “Just give me a few moments.” With that Alice gets busy dialing.

Bette turns away from Alice to leave her to her mission.  Moving into the house, she shifts different items around the kitchen, wipes down counters in the kitchen and generally tries to stay busy until Alice finishes.
