“Wait, wait, wait” Bette gets out quickly before Tina can cut her off again. “She’s your daughter. God of course she’s your daughter. Tina she’s not here right now. She’s at my gallery.”
With this information Tina takes a step back, Bette seems to be going along with her which dissipates much of Tina’s anger. But there is still enough that remains to continue her offensive. “When will she be back? I won’t let you keep her from me.”
“Tina please no one is trying to keep her from you. If that were the case would I have called you letting you know she was with me?” Bette asks hoping to diffuse enough of Tina’s anger so they could talk rationally.
The frustration of the situation begins to take a toll on Tina. No matter what Bette is saying Tina’s not ready to give in so easily. Stamping her foot Tina continues with her litany. “Bette there has never been anyone else but the two of us and it’s worked just fine until now. I’m not about to start changing things until I see Angelica and we talk. I’m her mother and no matter what anyone says to her she’s my daughter and I plan on taking her out of here. No matter what stories you or anyone else has told her I will not give up my daughter.”
“Tina….Tina…please take a step back…. Let’s just take things down a notch or two. Please! What are you talking about? Has someone said something to your daughter? Is that why she’s here?”
Bette’s question seems to break through the barricade of anger that Tina was using to fend off Bette’s effect on her. With the hole opening up, Tina is finally able to look at Bette and see her. See the woman before her who is doing nothing more than trying to answer each of her charges with a logical answer. “You’re not trying to take Angelica from me?” Tina finally says weakly.
“No Tina I’m not. I can only imagine the frightening thoughts you have been imagining not knowing where she is.” Bette adds trying to bolster she conviction for calling Tina in the first place.
“Oh God” Tina gushes as tears begin to leak from her eyes. “I thought you were part of Angelica being missing.” Tina says before she doubles over in full fledge tears.
“Tina… Oh my God no.” Bette says while she rushes up to Tina wrapping her arms around her. “Tina it’s going to be OK. Angelica is fine. We are all so lucky she ended up here.” Bette says and realizes that Tina is not hearing a word she is saying.
Tina is too emotionally raw to comprehend any of what Bette is saying. Bette realizes this and heads towards the couch where she guides her to sit. Once there Bette just continues to hold Tina close trying to soothe her raw emotions.

am I first, am I the one that is supposed to let you have it for leaving us here and knowing your not comeing back at least till Friday, Not even nice. The next holiday is christmas and that old guy santa is going to know so you better be nice. Well jewt this chapter is as brilliant as all previous chapters. Wow time for Tina to calm down n think rationally n give Bette her due in this matter. Well u r the story teller n I shall await the next chapter impatiently:)PPS
Alrighty then. Got that out of her system. We all understand how overwrought Tina has been and hopefully she can listen now. Have a nice Thanksgiving.

I’m not a “mom”, and I can only imagine the pain and despair a mom feels losing a child. The older Bette sees; knows this fear; it’s a nice touch to have them “connect” on their own before others intrude. Good thing Tina’s job is flexible where she can work out of LA – hint, hint as to where I hope the story will end. Ha. Ha. Aloha!
Fantastic drama filled chapter, now for some calm discussion? Angelica needs a biracial mother-figure, and Bette needs someone to take care of her, right? Oh it’s never so simple. Can’t wait for more.
Tina is a hot mess. It’s not as if Bette is some ogre that will kidnap Angelica. Tina is way over the top. She ought to practice yoga. LOL. :-)

I love this Bette,she letting Tina yell and scream at her. Will be so nice when Tina finds out that Angie has not be told a thing. She will be so ashame of herself. That is a Mother for you when a child is in trouble or out of pocket. She will be sick when she finds out that Bette is so ill, Hey you thanks for posting and have a happy tomorrow.
