Window of Opportunity ch.21
We talked about family night and her getting to see everyone. She asked if Mommy would be there and I told her Mommy was going to try to be there. I didn’t want to get her hopes up and something delay Tina from being able to come. There would be two disappointed Porters. As I finished getting ready, after we ate, Angie sat at the table to draw a picture for Mommy. She amazed me. Her interests were so varied and she was able to amuse herself with little interaction from others. If Tina and I are able to come back together, I hope we one day are able to give Angie a brother or a sister. Well, another brother because our little one is never forgotten.
After I dropped Angie off I headed off to work and was met by James who was in a near panic. It was so unlike him. That usually was my role. My major sponsor for our upcoming Seniors art show had just pulled out. I think that James almost had a stroke when I didn’t throw one of my usual temper tantrums. I was concerned of course but I was not going to mess up my day. I walked into my office, pulled out my rolodex from the CAC and pulled out 5 cards. I told him to call them, explain the situation and see if any of them was willing to help. He took the cards and looked at me like he had never seen me before. He cleared his throat before speaking.
“You are really in love with her aren’t you?”
“What are you talking about?” I knew though. It went back to him saying the other day that Tina calms me. When she and I are in a good place, little in the world can disrupt that and he knew.
“Try that with someone who doesn’t know you. Tina. You only act this way when Tina is on your mind more than work. I’ll take it though. Let me go call these folks and see what happens.”
“Thanks James. Hey, tonight, don’t say anything please. Tina and I aren’t together and it’s her first time in a long time back. I don’t want her to feel uncomfortable”

Simply lovely! Thank you for writing! [Did you find your glasses yet?] :)
So good!!! PPS.
I take it you teach?? I love that the gang were together and they all welcome Tina. Friends are the ones that counts in the long run. True friends are hard to find and to keep. Love how Bette and Tina acts so silly together. Feels like old times. thanks
Awesome! Looking forward to the date!
This story is so good. Thank you for sharing your talent.
I love this story more with every chapter! Please post soon as I’m very excited to see what Bette has planned for their date:)
Loving this story!!!!! PPS.
Oh, the heck with the students… we are all dying for more of your story! :>) So beautifully crafted. I love the flirting between B & T over the bathing suit. Absolutely HOT with a dose of reality (an inquisitive 3 year-old) thrown in as well. I think I’m looking forward to the date as much as Tina is! PPS
Testing, I hate state wide testing. We are doing it also. I don’t have to give it, but as a special area teacher I get to give extended breaks to the classroom teachers. Having Kindergartners for 40 minutes with golf clubs in their hands will drive anybody mad. I love how the family is coming back together slowly. The speed and care that is going into Bette and Tina reconciliation is amazing.
Loved the chapter. I hope you get your project done without too much trouble and take us along on the B&T date soon.
Incredible!!:)
