    Window of Opportunity ch.21

Getting home was uneventful and actually pretty quick. I unpacked, threw some stuff into the dry cleaning bag and packed again…to be on the safe side I packed for three days. I threw some stuff in a bag to take to Bette’s and grabbed the dry cleaning as I headed out. On the way to the day care, I dropped off and picked up my cleaning, grabbed some sandwiches and arrived at the day care just before nap time. Angie saw me before I saw her and began screaming. It melted my heart and I scooped her up and held her close to me. I was as excited to see her as she was to see me. I went ahead and signed her out and we left to spend some time together.

Spending time with her is so effortless. She is easy to amuse and she just wants time. We took our sandwiches to the park and sat together as we ate. She played for a bit but it was obvious that she was tired, especially as she was missing her nap. We picked up and headed over to Bette’s. She fell asleep on the way and I juggled her and my things to get her in the house and into her bed. This house…my old house was the place I always felt was home. I, at times missed it and other times hated it. The memories were all so vivid to me…both good and bad. Before I could get too melancholy, the phone rang and I smiled. It was Bette.

    “Hey Bette.”

    “Hey T. Welcome back.”

“Thanks. I’m so glad to be away from there. How’s your day going?”

“Near crisis this  morning but James took care of it and things are better as a result. How’d your day go before leaving?”

“Not too bad. A couple of things were resolved and some things can’t be resolved. It’s as good as it’s going to be until there is a director there.”

“Are you going to get Angie?”

“I’m so ahead of you. I went home and packed for Saturday, then picked Angie up and we went to the park and had lunch. We are at your place now and she is napping. I hope it’s ok that we came over so early.”

    1. I take it you teach?? I love that the gang were together and they all welcome Tina. Friends are the ones that counts in the long run. True friends are hard to find and to keep. Love how Bette and Tina acts so silly together. Feels like old times. thanks

    2. Oh, the heck with the students… we are all dying for more of your story! :>) So beautifully crafted. I love the flirting between B & T over the bathing suit. Absolutely HOT with a dose of reality (an inquisitive 3 year-old) thrown in as well. I think I’m looking forward to the date as much as Tina is! PPS

    3. Testing, I hate state wide testing. We are doing it also. I don’t have to give it, but as a special area teacher I get to give extended breaks to the classroom teachers. Having Kindergartners for 40 minutes with golf clubs in their hands will drive anybody mad. I love how the family is coming back together slowly. The speed and care that is going into Bette and Tina reconciliation is amazing.

    4. Thanks for giving us the pleasure to read your delightful story. It’s so beautiful that makes our hearts warm and rejoice with all the charming details you are so generously bringing to this enchanting story of yours. Thanks, again, for posting. Hope you can update, sometime, soon. Sincerely, Lucero & Marsha – From Mexico City
