Window of Opportunity ch.21
“Of course it is Tina. I’ve always wanted you to feel that it’s still your house too.”
“Thanks. While she’s sleeping, is there anything you want me to do for tonight?”
“No, just relax. I’m going to pick up some Chinese food and some drinks on the way home so I have everything under control.”
“When are you going to leave work?”
“Probably in the next hour or so unless you want to spend time alone time with Angie. I can go by and order and pay for the food and have Kit pick it up on her way over so it’s still hot.”
“I’d like to spend time with both of you if you can get away from work.”
“I can get away. Let me go tie up some loose ends and head out. I’ll make a couple quick stops and be home. Make yourself comfortable and help yourself to anything you may need.”
“I will thanks. See you in a bit then.” As we disconnected I was pleased that she was coming to spend some time with us. I love watching her and Angie together and I know when everyone gets here, we will have to be on our best behaviors unless we want 20 questions from Alice. I’m not doing well with these decisions of mine. I can’t wait to get a hug from her and knowing how she feels about me and us, I probably should refrain. I just never have been able to refrain when it comes to Bette Porter. I went in to change in my bathing suit hoping to be able to get a little sun before Angie wakes up.
Bette
I finished up my work for the day and told James to leave also. Everything was under control and neither of us wanted to be there anyway. When I told James about ordering the food, he volunteered to take care of it on the way over so I gave him the money and a list of some things to order. I then headed to get some drinks. I was thinking non alcoholic today. Kit doesn’t mind when we drink in her presence but I want her to know that I appreciate her and am proud of her. I also did not want our first family night to be a drunken fest. I grabbed some non alcoholic beer, wine and some juice for Angie. If Becca came and the girls wanted to drink, they would not have a problem raiding Shane’s stash. They have in the past liked the non alcohol nights so based on Alice having the love bug and probably not wanting to crash at the house due to excessive drinking and Shane’s excessive drinking as of late, I was sure that they would probably thank me. Kit would be as smooth as ever but her smile would radiate more brightly than New York during Christmas.

Simply lovely! Thank you for writing! [Did you find your glasses yet?] :)
So good!!! PPS.
I take it you teach?? I love that the gang were together and they all welcome Tina. Friends are the ones that counts in the long run. True friends are hard to find and to keep. Love how Bette and Tina acts so silly together. Feels like old times. thanks
Awesome! Looking forward to the date!
This story is so good. Thank you for sharing your talent.
I love this story more with every chapter! Please post soon as I’m very excited to see what Bette has planned for their date:)
Loving this story!!!!! PPS.
Oh, the heck with the students… we are all dying for more of your story! :>) So beautifully crafted. I love the flirting between B & T over the bathing suit. Absolutely HOT with a dose of reality (an inquisitive 3 year-old) thrown in as well. I think I’m looking forward to the date as much as Tina is! PPS
Testing, I hate state wide testing. We are doing it also. I don’t have to give it, but as a special area teacher I get to give extended breaks to the classroom teachers. Having Kindergartners for 40 minutes with golf clubs in their hands will drive anybody mad. I love how the family is coming back together slowly. The speed and care that is going into Bette and Tina reconciliation is amazing.
Loved the chapter. I hope you get your project done without too much trouble and take us along on the B&T date soon.
Incredible!!:)
