    Window of Opportunity ch.37

I walked off shaking. I was totally and completely not prepared to see her. She did not bring any good feelings to surface. The only thought that I had was Tina and whether I should tell her or not. Our new policy of honesty made it imperative that I tell her as much as I dreaded the thought. She was going to be so hurt. It was if our past was once again trying to derail us from our future.

I just left. I wasn’t sure what was happening around me and I wasn’t positive how I made it home in one piece. When I arrived I just sat in the car trying to get my composure back but it wasn’t working. I was thrown a loop being approached by Candace and worse yet, I still had to go in and tell Tina. After sitting for some time, I finally got out of the car and walked in the house. Tina was sitting on the couch and smiled when she saw me. The smile was short lived when she saw my face and realized that something was terribly wrong. She went into the kitchen and came back out and tried to talk to me. I wasn’t able to talk yet. When my phone rang, it brought me back to my reality of what was happening. It was Candace calling and my first instinct was to get her as far away from me as possible. I threw the phone across the room. I really liked that phone too. That’s what was needed to spring Tina into action and she gave me the choice of talking to her or calling Suzanne. I really really wanted to talk to Suzanne and process everything with her before talking to Tina but her number was stored somewhere in that phone I had just hurled across the room. The choice was now out of my hands and I started mumbling incoherently, or so I thought an explanation to Tina. She got it and knew that something bad had happened.

    Tina

As much as my first thought may have been to bolt, I stayed put. I had to give Bette the benefit of my support as much as my stomach was turning over and over.

    1. I am savoring the back-to-back postings. What a treat! I love your writing style and find myself rereading paragraphs. Thanks for all the updates and enjoy the rest of your break!

    2. By some strange coincidence…you often write something that touches deep within my soul and that makes it extremely heartfelt. Amazing. Thank you again for writing.

    3. As always another truely amazing post! I so what you mean with the painting and friends and booze…just say you couldn’t decide which color, it worked for me for awhile anyway! lol Hope you had fun at lunch:)

    4. The od Bette needs to come out at times. Having a temper doesn;t not hurt, Now she will need to get a new phone.so in a way she hurt herself..Glad that Tina was so supportive of Bette then she explain to Bette about what she said It was the doing not what she couldnt control. thanks

    5. Wow, I am sooooo glad that you had some extra time to write this. I am awestruck at your ability to write like this in such a short amount of time. This was a beautiful chapter demonstrating just how far they have come with their communiction. I am always left with wanting more of this story and yet you haven’t teased me once with a cliff hanger…the mark of a really good story teller!

    6. Great challenge to the relationship and it all worked out so smoothly — at least for these two. I hope these two get a break though – Kit’s right — they deserve a moment without additional stress. Anxiously awaiting family day and how they are going to tell the girls….

    7. Bette lost it for a second but pulled it together when she saw that Tina was 100% behind her and believed she did nothing to encourage Candace. Great chapter can’t wait for what comes next. PPS

    8. Awesome as usual..yeah painting, BF and wine don’t mix well. I found that out with cooking :) Have fun with your lunch, and just take it easy. Anybody ask about your painting..just say its abstract..:) PPS

    9. another great update! enjoy lunch! wow if candance causes to much trouble the gang will have to step in case tina needs a hand. cuz tina will sure take care of her if need be! :)

    10. WOW, you’re on a roll, newagegirl! I haven’t even managed to leave a comment yet to your last two, long and enjoyable chapters but then you came up with another good one. Talk about prolificness! I’m really amazed. You write when you’re under pressure from your important project, in the middle of the night when you can’t sleep, when you’re pissed off because of botched weekend plans and before or after painting your kitchen. WOW! I salute you, newagegirl! Btw, a million thanks for granting my requests! You know, I started squealing when I read Tina and Bette’s recollection of the night when they first made love. I was beside myself with joy because that’s what I wanted to read and you granted my wish! And you followed it up with the account of their first out-of-town trip to Moscow, Kentucky! Excuse my language but holy sh*t, this just keeps getting better and betterer!!! This chapter’s a good test for them. Ghosts from their past are bound to haunt them but the difference now is how they react to them, how they handle the tricky situations individually and together. Looking forward to the Saturday barbeque. :> I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the beautiful memories of their rings, their commitment ceremony will be in one of the next envelopes. This could segue way into the bitter, painful memory of the day they stopped wearing those rings. Thanks a lot for this update, newagegirl! And may your Muse continue to inspire you whatever real life crisis or inanities you’re dealing with right now. PPS. :>
