Both Bette and Tina embrace Peggy. Bette is first to speak. “Peggy I don’t want to know how you managed all this but I am grateful that she can no longer hurt me or my family. Thank you.”
“Yes, thank you Peggy.”
“Now let’s go and see what architectural monstrosity Angie and Gerald have created.” With that they made their way out to the beach.
Bette’s gallery opening of her own works entitled “Woman of My Dreams” was a huge success. The art world was in love with Bette Porter but for Bette it only mattered that she was loved by Tina. Tina had been blown away when Bette unveiled her center piece. It was a portrait of Tina holding a new born baby. This baby was blonde headed with hazel eyes. Tears filled her eyes as she looked at Bette. Bette shyly explained “T we haven’t talked about having another child since I have returned but for the last 2 months I have been having this same dream. So, I finally put it to canvas. I hope you want to have another child with me and I would be honored if you would let me carry it. Since you had such a hard time last time, I don’t want to take the chance of losing you.”
Tina slowly caressed Bette’s face. “Bette, I would love to have another baby with you. This child looks so real. Do you think that is what our child will look like?”
“I don’t know T but that is the child of my dreams. Let’s make her a reality.”
“Yes please” was all Tina could say.
One year later….
Tina walks into their bedroom to see what is taking Bette so long to get ready. The scene that greets her is clothes strewn all over the bed and a sulking Bette sitting on the divan. “Bette, why aren’t you dressed?”
“I can’t find anything to fit this whale body I have now.” The tears began to fall down her cheeks.
Tina was familiar with these hormonal swings. Bette was a beautiful 9 months pregnant. She was due any day and was oh so ready. Tina walked into their closet and pulled out her favorite outfit. “Here darling this is my favorite outfit on you.” She sat down next to Bette and slowly wiped the tears from her cheeks. “Bette, you are the most beautiful woman I know. You are going to deliver our beautiful baby any day now. This is a special night for Kit and she has asked us to join her. Now let’s get you up and get you ready so we can go and relax with our friends.”
