    Woman of My Dreams

    Chapter 3

Dr. Roberts arrives sharply at 6PM.  She is very anxious to find out who Jennifer really is and how Ms. Peabody knows her.

Peggy greets Dr. Roberts at the door.  “Please come in Dr. Roberts.  I want to thank you for joining me tonight.  You must understand today was quite a shock for me.  I had hoped beyond hope that it would be her but seeing her standing there still astonished me and then when she didn’t recognize me.  I was just in shock and heartbroken.”

“Yes, I can understand Ms. Peabody.  Sometimes seeing people they know after losing their memory will be enough of a shock to bring it all back.  Unfortunately in Jennifer’s case, that apparently didn’t happen.  So, Ms. Peabody, who is she and how do you know her?”

“Well, her name is Bette Porter.  She has lived in Los Angeles, California for the last 15 years.  She is married to Tina Kennard and they have a beautiful daughter named Angelica.  I have known Bette for about 10 years.  She owns her own art gallery in Los Angeles and that is how we came to know one another.  I consider her like a daughter as well as Tina and Angelica is like one of my grandchildren.”

“6 months ago Bette went on a trip to Northern Peru.  She called and talked with Tina telling her that she was going on an excursion into the mountains to visit a local artist.  We never heard from her again.  We have spent months trying to find out any information about her disappearance but have learned nothing.  At least not until your application for a grant came to my attention.  The pictures you sent of Bette’s paintings caught my eye.  They captured Tina and Angelica like only Bette could have done.  You can imagine my surprise and especially when I arrive and she didn’t even recognize me.  Now Dr. Roberts, I am hoping that you can fill me in on the last 6 months.”

Dr. Roberts slowly began to describe the last 6 months.  “Bette was found wondering in the mountains of Peru.  Apparently she had been in an accident because she had a large wound on the side of her head.  She wondered into a village and was taken care of there.  One of my colleagues visits that village regularly so he found her there on his next visit.   He brought her back to Ecuador since I specialize in Psychology.  She was admitted into the hospital for about a week being tested and she was suffering from dizzy spells.  That is where we first met.  We began having regular visits as we began to try and find out who she was.  During our first sessions, I noticed that she loved to draw so I gave her art supplies and the rest is history.”

    1. Love it!!!! I hope that Bette takes the news well. If Bette doesn’t get her memory back she will fall in love with Tina all over again. Maybe it will take Bette alittle time but she will remember. Thank you PPVS

    2. This is a fantastic story. Just caught up with the chapters and I love the story. Hopefully when they see each other again hopefully it will trigger Bette’s memory when Bette hears that lovely southern drawl of Tinas that she loves to hear so much. And I think if they brought Angie along also and Angie yrlled Momma to Bette it would also trigger some memories for Bette. She obviously has them embedded in her heart as well deeply in her memory. Seeing and hearing them will bring her memory back. At anyrate I am so glad they are making plans to bring her back home to her family and friends. Love this story. Thanks for posting.
