You (Part the Forty-First)
“That’s possible; I know KCRW probably doesn’t pay for top of the line stuff, and if her site’s getting more popular it might start costing a fortune in bandwidth. If she wants to have me take a look at it, I can find out the stats just by going to the website. I’m sure we can figure something out. I’m not a genius or anything, but I did go to school for networking so I should hope I could be a little help at least,” Max shrugged as they approached the building.
“I’ll let her know; thanks. Oh, and Max? I know my site isn’t as popular anymore since I stopped playing, but the guy I had working on it doesn’t do it anymore or anything, so…I mean, I can pay you for your time. I just kinda want something out there, you know?”
“Well, sure. I mean, people know why you’re not playing, I’m sure your fan base would appreciate updates and things. Don’t worry about it, fan sites aren’t too much work, and they’re usually not too complicated. I can do that for you easy, and don’t worry about the money.”
“Thanks. And hey, if you ever need to talk, about anything at all…don’t feel like you’re imposing. I know you’ve gotten a lot of shit since you’ve been out here, and I haven’t always been very nice to you. I’d like to try and make up for that if I can,” Dana said sincerely, the residual guilt over the way the group had treated and to a large extent was still treating him coming back to her suddenly and painfully.
“That’s not necessary, but it’d be nice to talk to somebody sometimes. I, uh…I’ve actually started to go to group therapy sessions for people who are transitioning. I know it’s sort of a weird question, and I know you’ve got a lot going on, but…” he trailed off, embarrassed.
“I’d love to go with you, but I don’t think I’d have anything too great to say. It’s a little out of my element,” Dana replied.
“If you’re there for moral support, that’d mean the world to me. You don’t have to say anything,” Max said, touched that she’d agreed to go with him. He’d honestly expected her to look at him funny and make up an excuse, and if she was being honest with herself, Dana had to admit that she probably would have if she’d never gotten sick. Max saw the guilty expression on her face and hugged her quickly before he started walking in the direction of Shane and Jenny’s, turning his back so she wouldn’t have to look him in the eye.

Yay, I do believe I’m first! I totally always thought Erin Daniels had a Sheryl Crow-esque look to her, but I thought I was the only one. I loved this update, it was really adorable and so well written. And yeah, I shuddered at the thought of them listening to Mariah Carey.
great chapter!!:)
Alice’s lack of sense of reality is a bit unsettling, but understandable. But getting AlShaDane back together is way cool. Dana eating the rest of the pizza was funny after she told Alice not to buy all garbage at the grocery store, haha. The Ari storyline is growing on me, as it shows Dana’s strength and compassion. Yet I don’t get the backlash against Mariah. I for one felt that for once Dana should get the entertainment of her choice. Circles, twas a nice touch!
Alright, I’m a lurker and never posted because frankly I have too many website accounts and will lose track. But after reading the note at the bottom of this chapter I was forced to sign up just to beg you to somehow continue it.I check for updates pretty much every second day, which sounds creepy but it just shows how much I love this story. I refuse to watch L word after our beloved little ms fairbanks was taken from us and aside from watching season 1 and 2 over and over again this gives me something to actually look foward to. This is the only way danish love continues for me, and to have it taken away again would be toooo tragic. So if you need to end it, do so. But I’m praying you keep going because I don’t know where else to turn to for danish satisfaction.
I love your writing and really enjoy this story. There has never been a bad chapter (I should know — when you posted the latest, I went back and re-read the whole thing). I hope you continue.
Loved Loved Loved this update…Dana high classic…I read your note, I think there are alot places you can take this…but you are the writer with the vision…do what you feel is right…But I love this story…it’s an addiction what can I say!!Thank You…PPS!
ok im re-commenting b/c i have 3 things to say: 1. Yes, we do rule! (very cool timing on both our parts with the post)2. I look forward to your re-comment later. 3. I’m still shuddering over the thought of Mariah.
Lovely update, they were really sweet. The part with Ari was really heartbreaking and special. Great work. :)
I love this story more with each chapter
