According to this apparently incomplete version of The Chart, there are no links between Alice and Dana, though those links, along with any link to Sharon being brought up on the screen after the camera has shifted back to Alice and Marc talking.
Alice challenges Marc to name any lesbian he can think of to see if Alice can be linked to her. His choice is Christine Lee.
According to Alice, Christine Lee links directly to Grace Partridge (their relationship happening, “a couple of years ago”), with Grace linking to Anya II (“one night thing”), then Anya II to Denise (they dated), then Denise to Katherine Claymore (listed as Katherine; Denise and Katherine lived together), then Katherine to Alice (Alice’s first girlfriend out of college). With this, Christine goes from having no visible link to having a direct link to Grace, whose name suddenly pops up on the screen. Grace’s name is to the right of Doris.
Grace is also now linked to Jill as well as someone below. This also means Jill is now on the screen. Rewinding a bit back to the original last image of this Chart prior to the additions.
Doris is on the right of the screen, already linked to Anya II, with the links to Denise, then Katherine, and then Alice already accounted for. This likely means that Anya II’s off screen link is indeed to Grace. This also would indicate Jill being linked to Bryce.
“I mean one of you slept with Anya.” This particular Anya, or Anya II as I have her listed since there’s another Anya on the left of this Chart apparently has a reputation, perhaps as a bisexual version of Shane. The Chart idea is dismissed in favor of a piece on vaginal rejuvenation, which Marc readily likes. This also causes The Chart’s popularity to be in the form of an online database while at the start of Season 4 (Episode 401) it becomes an official website.
The debut of the standard title card for the remainder of Season 1. This will obviously change in a big way once Season 2 arrives.
Day 2 (Monday, February 16th, 2004)
Morning.
Tina is jogging, presumably on North Genesee Avenue where her and Bette’s home is. She decides, “Let’s do it.” Tina goes inside where Bette is wrapped in a towel and brushing her hair after showering. Tina decides she wants to do the insemination with Marcus’s sperm, still on ice at the Los Angeles Cryobank. Tina’s plan is to retrieve the sperm this afternoon and then tonight, the two of them attempt the insemination without Dr. Wilson’s help. This is a sudden change of heart for Tina. Tina steps into the shower with Bette joining her, which for Bette would mean a second shower. Given the date we’re going with for the timeline, it seems obvious that Bette and Tina had a very romantic Valentine’s Weekend, which would explain Bette’s good mood this morning.
Next door, Tim is about to leave for work at CU with Jenny wanting to talk. Tim talks up Trish and Mary from the women’s swim team. Tim mentions that this Saturday (February 21st, 2004) and “SC” or Southern Cal being their opponents. This is likely in reference to a second meet involving CU and Southern Cal before facing off in the Pac-10 Championships the following week.
This means that Jenny has had time to consider the marriage proposal while also disappearing from the group she has just been introdued to, focusing instead on her writing, job, and Tim. This also gives her time to deal with any guilt involving her night with Marina, while also explaining why it will seem like some considerable time has passed between that encounter and Jenny returning to The Planet again later on. Not to mention, this allows for Tim and Jenny to return to the Midwest during Holiday break to inform their respective families of the engagement before breaking the news to Randy.
Shane leaves Lisa’s place, cementing that particular link on The Chart. It is possible that this is a relationship that neither mean to take too seriously at first, though it’s mainly swept under the rug and forgotten until Lisa is brought up again during a conversation in Episode 501. Shane mentions that she will be at Milk on Thursday (February 19th, 2004). Spying on her from car is Lacey while Shane gets into her pickup truck, on the phone with someone else, possibly a client.
The Country Club where Dana now trains with her unnamed coach. Dana’s coach is also on his cellphone, though it’s doubtful he’s talking to Shane. Coach apparently has something to deal with so Dana gets to take a 45 minute break for a snack (or lunch). This particular club has 5 tennis courts so it also doubles as a training center for tennis players. As for where this place is, there is a Los Angeles Tennis Club on Clinton Street in Los Angeles, just South of Melrose Avenue. Considering this particular club, which I keep referring to as a Country Club (which means they may also have a golf course) would preferrably be close to The Planet that serves as a hub for the main characters, this location could work, while still having enough distance for Dana and her closet.
Alice arrives in Venice Beach at the Venice Beach Medical Building, which means Alice traveled West this morning after talking with Marc back on Friday at LA Magazine (located on Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles).
The offices of the Venice Beach Medical Building!
-MD = Doctor Of Medicine
-FACOG = Fellow Status, American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
-FRCPC = Royal College of Surgeons of Canada…Canadian Doctors…in California (Canadian influence is high in the L-Universe’s Los Angeles which will have a secret history feel to it that’s pointed out as we continue on); the F likely meaning “Fellow”
-BA = Bachelor of Arts
-BSc = Bachelor of Science
-FRCS (C) = Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Seniror Surgeons of Ireland & United Kingdom, with the (C) likely standing for Canada, which fits oddly enough here; (SA) would mean South Africa
-FRCSC = Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Canada (Canadian influence)
-MB = Bachelor of Medicine
-ChB = Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery
Obstetricians deal with the health of pregnant women and newborn babies.
Gynecologists deal with the female reproductive system and breasts.

There are 6 buttons to press, 1 for each office. Alice chooses Dr. Piersey in office 201. Dr. Q. Piersey is a Doctor of Medicine and the only apparent American Doctor in this building. Also, this Doctor deals in vaginal rejuvenation.
Vaginal Rejuvenation is medically known as Vaginoplasty. It’s plastic surgery for the vagina. The name of Dr. Piersey’s office is the Reviva Clinic, or Reviva for short. Alice Pieszecki goes by the name of Alice Peters when reporting for LA Magazine. This is probably to keep her distant from other pieces she does from other publications when freelancing. Gabby’s voice is heard through the speaker and the viewer will be introdued to her proper in just a moment.
Before we get to Gabby, Alice picks up a Reviva Clinic brochure with the name of the clinic up top, a smiling heterosexual couple with their foreheads together and the slogan, “A Tighter, More Youthful Vagina,” helping the audience get a better idea of what goes on here.
Gabby, who is Alice’s ex works here as a receptionist. Gabby discourages Alice by claiming “the recovery’s supposed to be hell.” Gabby reveals that she and Alice have had a previous relationship, which is likely on again/off again. This may explain Alice’s reluctance to add Gabby’s name to The Chart as Gabby could be the one that provides the most genuine hurt when it comes to relationships. It is possible that in September, 2003 (just before the events of Episode 101/102 take place), Alice and Gabby are in the midst of trying to make their relationship work, to which Gabby realizes she’s “not ready.” Gabby wants to have lunch with Alice, which Alice will find herself entertained by.
As Alice takes a seat, Gabby receives a phone call from someone looking to make an appointment. The appointment winds up being set for “Tuesday, the 23rd around 3 o’clock. He’s got a whole hour then.” This indicates that Dr. Piersey is male. The next “Tuesday the 23rd would be March, 2004. This confirms that much time has passed between episodes. Eventually, the appointment is apparently move to “that Thursday,” 2 weeks later.
Meanwhile, Dana is given a plate she didn’t order, but is compliments of Lara Perkins (who we are introduced to as she works in the background). The waiter refers to Lara as the sous chef (second-in-command chef), which Dana will mistakenly understand as “soup chef.” Part of the meal involves carrotts and brussell sprouts. This makes Dana smile (and so it begins).
While Tim’s away at work, Jenny is at home playing a message from Marina on the answering machine. There has been some significant time for sure. Jenny begins writing about having her character, Sarah Shuster washed up on the shore, presumably dead. This is a hint that, considering Sarah is an analog for Jenny during her college years as well as the time she has had her relationship grow with Tim may be about to come to an end.
Shane arrives at The Planet, which looks dramatically different from Episode 101/102, meaning that Marina was able to focus on some renovations to get through Jenny’s dogged ignorance of her during December and January. Lacey is waiting for Shane with a photo camera. This will only be the beginning for Shane’s problems with cameras.
Marina throws Lacey out while Jenny slowly drives by in Tim’s Firebird (no word on how Tim actually gets to work unless he took a cab or the bus). Meanwhile Shane goes back to hanging out with Alice and Dana. Prior to all this happening, Dana has already confided in Alice her new crush, which is Lara the sous chef. Alice is flipping through a magazine, which is Girlfriends. Pink (back when she still had pink hair) is on the magazine.
Girlfriends is a lesbian-centric publication, offering its take on news and popular culture. The magazine would cease publication in 2006.
Alice admits to putting her Chart on the Internet, though it’s still mostly just a raw database at this point. It will gain more traction as a full-fledged website in Episode 401.
Jenny continues writing about the death of Sarah Shuster, doubling as the death of Jenny, Pre-Marina. This is made all the more obvious as the two of the people grieving begin making out and transforming into Marina and Jenny in the now fantasy sequence in Jenny’s mind. This leads Jenny back to the answering machine. Shuster, like Jenny is apparently Jewish. Also like Jenny, her story ends in death.
